Your Call

Here's what others have had to say about Gstaad Palace/Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks and Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks.

  • 5-Ball Rating "It’s difficult to describe this experience in a review, as words don’t do it full justice - it is truly exceptional. We have attended Roy and Joy’s tennis weeks four times, and look forward to attending again. We’ve met lifelong friends, experienced top notch instruction, and enjoyed excellent hospitality by Roy, Joy, and all the staff at the Palace. The entire week is curated perfectly - from the format of the tennis instruction, to the various dinners, to the picnic in the mountains. No detail has gone unattended to. Something that only 40+ years of successfully running tennis weeks can bring! Gstaad and the Palace hotel are magical. Having stayed in many of the top locations and hotels around the world, we can confidently say that the Palace ranks inline with the best of the best. The view of the mountains, beautiful spa and rooms, top notch cuisine, and service round out the world class tennis instruction provided throughout the 6 day camp. This includes instruction by Roy himself, along with a team of hand-selected and accomplished pros from around the world who come back year after year. The week can be as intense or as relaxed as you want it to be, but you will most definitely leave with a smile on your face and an improved game - evidenced by the returning guests that we cross paths with every year (many having attended 10+ times, and some at 20+). On our most recent trip, we brought our young son and his grandparents, and while they didn’t participate in the tennis, all had a special time alongside us. I can’t imagine that there is any other experience like this in the world - for tennis enthusiasts, this is the absolute crème de la crème. Roy and Joy, thank you for creating such a magical experience."—J.G., Adv., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Heavenly! We refer to Roy Emerson Tennis Week as Tennis Heaven. My superlative review is not exaggeration. My husband and I have attended Roy's Tennis Week at least 6 times over the past 20 years and each year has been an exquisite experience. Unlike other tennis camps we've heard of where the named tennis pro perhaps makes an appearance once, Roy and Joy are not only present but involved daily with all guests and assure their comfort and enjoyment. Roy's unique sense of humor and encouraging attitude sets the tone for all the pros who could not be more attentive and supportive, making tennis instruction fun day after day, week after week, year after year. The setting is also glorius and the staff at the Palace hotel make you feel at home immediately. We will be returning again later this year and look foward to our week in heaven!"—S.R., Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Visits to Gstaad for Roy Emerson Tennis weeks over the 20+ years has provided my wifie and me a pretty good sample of how good and consistent the experiences have been. Each has been different, as everything in the world changes, yet somehow Roy and Joy have provided experiences, tennis, social atmosphere, joyfullness (no pun intended) that leave us feeling afterward like we've just been to Tennis Heaven. They create a magic by the force of their personalities that produces instant comaraderie among guests, and with help of the wonderful pros we all become one family. Certainly the decades of running this camp have also established a style and program that enables us hackers to enjoy the best of instruction in a convivial atmosphere unparalled in my 50+ years of playing tennis."—M.M., Adv. Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson Tennis Camp remains “Simply the Best” in all categories including overall tennis experience, expert tennis pros, tennis instruction/programs, social experience, stunning hotel setting, cuisine, spa and amenities. “Second to None” are: Roy and his very experienced and professional team of coaches, the red clay tennis facilities, the world class 5 Star Hotel/Spa accommodations and very friendly staff, the sumptuous hotel cuisine and, of course, the breathtaking mountain views in every direction. The Tennis Camp is the ultimate experience which includes expert instruction and matchups, friendly doubles play and great social activities. Of course, “the Creme De La Creme” is Roy Emerson himself. Roy’s engaging personality, good natured humor and fascinating stories and experiences leaves everyone feeling at ease and “part of the extended tennis family”. Every single day in the week at the Tennis Camp is an absolute delight, leaving you with great memories, some new found friends and with plans to return. Many of the Camp participants, myself included, have attended numerous times which remains the best testament yet to this one-of-a-kind experience! My 5th year at the Tennis Camp in 2023 was truly the best yet! As I have said before, once you have participated in this world class tennis experience, you’ll want to return again and again and again . . ."—P.B., Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "How can it get any better then Roy Emerson giving you personal instruction? Also he’s great teaching staff from all over the world. Five or more hours of tennis on beautiful red clay courts. Fun match play for all levels . Breathtaking mountain setting in Gstaad Switzerland. Outstanding accommodations at a five star luxury hotel , The Palace . Gourmet cuisine with outstanding service. I highly recommend Roy Emerson Tennis Week. Sign me up coach!!!"—B.M., Adv., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "We've been going to Emerson Tennis Weeks for over 25 years. We reserve each year as soon as possible because we're always anxious to return. The tennis, the people, the Palace-can't be beat!"—J.L., Int., April 2024

  • 5-Ball Rating "Emerson Tennis Weeks provide excellent instruction in a 5-star environment. My husband and I have participated for several years (COVID years excluded) and we will be back in 2024. All the pros are excellent and the student: pro ratio is excellent. The accommodations in the Swiss Alps are a treat in themselves. No touch is overlooked. I highly recommend this camp to everyone looking for a once-in-a lifetime experience. The fact that many people return year after year is testimony to the unique experience that Roy and Joy Emerson create. This camp has a 100% focus on adult tennis so if you want pickle ball and children's camps, this may not be your spot. However there is so much to do in the area that family members wouldn't be short of things to do."—D.H., Low Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "I attended the Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks camp for the first time in 2023. I knew that the Camp had great reviews, but as a Solo attendee, I was unsure what to expect. I was blown away by the quality of the experience! First, the tennis. The staff, led by Roy Emerson, were world class professionals. While there were are variety of player levels present, the campers were arranged and challenged by level. As a 4.0 player, I learned a tremendous amount that I have applied to improving my game at home. The strength of the instruction is the ultimate strength of the Camp. Second, socially, all of the attendees and staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Roy and Joy. Every lunch, dinner, and evening was a blast. I developed lasting friendships in such a short period of time. Third, the Gstaad Palace was incomparable. I travel extensively, and it was probably the best overall resort that I have ever been to. The setting in the Alps, the rooms, the amazing food, the Spa, but mostly the friendly and unpretentious staff made for a wonderful experience. I consider myself lucky that I will be able to attend again this year!"—P.K., Adv. Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Attending the Roy Emerson Tennis Camp at Gstaad Palace was the most amazing experience of my life. As a lifetime tennis player I spent the week developing my game from the best tennis pros in the world. I was continuously challenged to up my game all the while making new friends on and off the court during the many fantastic dinners or activities put on by the camp. The setting at Gstaad palace is also unparalleled, the food, lodging, and amenities are all world class. Roy and Joy Emerson run a fabulous tennis camp and make every session more special and memorable than the last. I cannot wait to go back!"—E.M., Adv., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "My adult son and I went to the Roy Emerson Tennis Camp in Gstaad, Switzerland and could not have been happier with the experience. We played about five hours a day, receiving expert instruction each and every session. After our time on the courts, Roy and Joy arranged fantastic group dinners, unforgettable excursions and one-of-a-kind experiences like getting a tour of the hotel’s kitchen and wine cellar. This week was truly a trip of a lifetime and my son and I will remember it as one of the most special things we have done together. Roy and Joy work extremely hard to make sure everyone is playing at their level, get the instruction they need, and make sure everyone is comfortable and having a fabulous time. We can’t wait to return again this year."—L.M., Int., April 2024

  • 5-Ball Rating "If you're lucky enough to get a spot in this camp, don't hesitate. I've been several times and everything is top of the line. Fantastic instruction, spa, dining and beautiful mountain setting. I could say much more but just go, you'll love it."—D.B., Adv. Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "This is the best tennis camp I have ever attended. Have gone back for 5 years and love it even more each time. Roy and Joy are the best and make you feel like they have planned the camp just for you. The Palace is wonderful, unbelievable location, views, staff and service. Food is wonderful. The tennis pros are all terrific and are a diverse international group. Very interesting group of campers who come from all over the world. My favorite vacation that I look forward to each year. Have been to many tennis camps all over and this is by far my favorite!"—R.B., Adv. Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Great tennis, great food, great atmosphere and great couple, the Emersons taking care of you."—S.S., Adv., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "The Roy Emerson Tennis Week is a "double barrel" experience consisting of high-end tennis instruction at a magical resort. My wife and I are repeat participants, which speaks to a strength of the program week. Each day starts with an instructional theme by the "GOAT" himself. Thereafter, groups of 4 are matched with knowledgeable pros that take us through the program and on to match play. There are two three-hour sessions with an amazing hotel lunch in between, followed by casual "bonding," and dinner...simply outstanding."—G.M., Adv., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson‘s Tennis Camp is the best of the best! We have been coming for many years and can‘t wait to be back this summer. It is such a joy to have the unique opportunity to be on the court and learn so much from the famous Tennis Grand Roy Emerson and his superb team of Pros. The Palace Hotel is wonderful and Roy‘s lovely wife Joy is always ready to help if you have any questions about the hotel, shopping or hiking tours to make sure that your stay in Gstaad is a full success off the court too. To be at Roy Emerson’s Tennis Camp is alwayd the big highlight of our year."—B.T., Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Best experience ever! Of all my travel adventures, this is my favorite thing I have done. I have gone for six or seven years. It is everything you could want in a tennis holiday and more! If we start with why we all came - the tennis. I loved getting to play so much tennis. Each session had a different focus. Roy gives instruction for each session then we would break off in small groups (4 people maximum) to work with different pros. All the coaches are wonderful. Experienced, knowledgeable and fun. Next up is the setting. I dont think it gets much better than the Palace! Beautiful hotel, charming and attentive staff, good food, and relaxing spa (much needed after all that tennis). The afternoon picnic up in the mountains is definitely a highlight. The Palace kitchen crew de-camps to the mountainside and had a delicious lunch waiting for us. Meeting fellow tennis enthusiasts from all over the world is another highlight. I have made long-term friends that I still talk to and see to this day. And of course, Roy himself. His story-telling is superb. His sense of humor never ends. A bit of good-natured ribbing is included in the package! If you do not hear "lack of interest" or "just play the ones you like" at least once during the week, well you are definitely missing out. All in all, it was a fabulous experience and I hope to return in the future."—C.S., Low Int., April 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Where oh where to start. We have been delighted participants in Roy and Joy's camp a number of times, but last year was different for me. I had hurt my back about a month before we were due at the camp. Although the camp has a remarkably great cancelation policy that would have let us decline at no cost, my wife really wanted to attend, so I tagged along. I had several rounds of steroids, but still could not walk without a cane, but what the heck.... While I couldn't play, the amazing food and atmosphere made it a fine time for me and Roy and Joy made certain that my wife, Dottie, got as much tennis as she wanted, even getting her a ton of one on one work that really brought her game up a notch or two. I bravely supped the scrumptious breakfasts along with her in the morning (but adding a couple of mimosas which are always available, but not recommended if you're planning to play tennis afterwards.). Then I drifted to the spa/fitness center to take some hydrotherapy before a marvelous massage. Our rooms had a balcony with stunning views, so I hung out and read until it was time to join Dottie for lunch and hear all the things she had learned during the morning sessions. I have to say that, other than the fact that it was no fun watching all the tennis from the sidelines, you can see that I didn't suffer much. In addition, Roy and Joy set up a delightful Alpen lunch at a family cheese making place on the side of the mountain, an incredible tour of the hotel's extensive wine cellars and a couple of really nice off-site dinners with the group. We're returning this year and I intend to stay healthy so I can partake of the tennis as well as all the other superb offerings. We could not recommend this week any higher if you want to improve your tennis with world class coaches in a once-in-a-lifetime setting"—J.L., Adv. Int., March 2024

It is the ultimate in tennis camp: fantastic coaches/instructions, great players, luxurious hotel and fabulous food all in the most beautiful setting. It is Tennis Wonderland!!!! Roy is the most amazing host. He makes everyone feel so welcome and has great stories that he is always willing to share. • 5-Ball Rating "The experience is a delight . The tennis instruction is spot on. You go there to learn and try to be a better player and importantly to have fun and have a great time. Roy and Joy make this an exceptional experience for me personally and for everyone else. To be brief this is unique."—S.E., Int., March 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson tennis weeks in Gstaad is a dream come true for tennis lovers. The hotel and facilities are exceptional. The tennis experience is outstanding, with superb instruction, led by the charming Roy Emerson. All arrangements are coordinated by his gracious spouse, Joy Emerson. It is a magical experience from the moment you step in to the Palace Hotel up until it is time to leave. The only weakness I can think of is that it takes some effort to get to Gstaad for overseas travelers from afar."—R.R., Adv. Int., March 2024
  • 5-Ball Rating "I have attended the Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks program for approximately 15 years. One sign of its value is the large number of returnees each year. Gstaad and the Palace Hotel and their Swiss Alps location provide a spectacular setting for the week. The instructors are a diverse international group with excellent tennis instruction backgrounds. The attendees are also quite diverse. I find it a nice balance of instruction, drill, doubles play and social interaction. The attendees are nicely grouped by tennis skill. Roy Emerson is on the court for all sessions, providing instruction, encouragement, humor and interesting tennis stories. From my perspective it is a wonderful tennis/vacation experience that you may wish to combine with additional exploration of Switzerland."—T.C., Int., March 2024

  • 5-Ball Rating "My husband and I have gone to Roy's camp twice and are now making it an annual event. It is that good! I'm a novice player and was first concerned it might overwhelm me, but Roy is expert in matching players with other players of similar skill level, while still mixing it up enough to offer good variety. He attracts world-class pros and has a maximum four students per pro for all of the sessions. Roy is on the court all day first providing an overview of the stroke to be worked on that day, then staying courtside to offer advice and good natured ribbing. Roy's wife Joy organizes every detail and quickly fixes any problem you may have. The resort is luxurious and a manageable size. Several excursions are included, as well as all meals. If you want to treat yourself to an extraordinary experience, by all means go to this camp!"—D.H., Low Int., March 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "This program offers exceptional tennis in a magical setting with spectacular views of the alps, outstanding instruction from the legendary Roy Emerson and his talented coaches, and an international group of motivated players excited to share in the experience. Roy begins each morning with a demonstration on fundamentals including the forehand, the backhand, the serve, the return, the volley, the overhead, his lessons interspersed with delightful stories from past tournaments. I’ve recorded them on my phone and look at them before my matches for inspiration and guidance. The players are divided into small groups to work on skills and for match play. A delicious three-course gourmet lunch is served by waiters in tuxedos. More tennis drills in the afternoons as well as doubles play. There is some free time to enjoy the pool and spa, or to walk into the charming Swiss town of Gstaad for some shopping. Dinner is another gastronomical delight. Since most guests return year after year it’s sometimes difficult to secure a reservation. Don’t hesitate to come if you’re fortunate enough to be offered a spot."—P.M., Adv. Int., March 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "This is a perfect place to improve your tennis. The analysis and the follow up instructions can and will make your game better. I emphasize the teaching is excellent/superb. More important for me it is fun. If you are having a good time you will learn more and this is an opportunity to learn and have good time."—S.E., Int., March 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "This is the best experience ever!! My husband and I are going again this year (2023). Roy and Joy are the best -- real people. Roy is on court teaching the whole time and is great at matching up players. Can't be beat for a wonderful time and wonderful memories."—A.E., Int., March 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "I highly recommend Roy Emerson's Tennis Weeks. What could be more enjoyable than five hours of tennis each day lead by the great Roy Emerson and his staff of tennis pros from around the world? Accommodations are at the five star Gstaad Palace Hotel which has spectacular views of the Swiss mountains. The package includes three sumptuous meals per day. For the best tennis vacation, try Emerson's Tennis Weeks once, and you will want to return again and again."—M.F., Low Int., February 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson’s tennis week was phenomenal. The instruction by Roy and his select pros (from around the globe) was fantastic - detailed and very focused on each individual player. I loved loved the program and enjoyed instruction and match play in the mornings and afternoons. The Palace Hotel in Gstaad is first class in all ways - ambience, cuisine, service, scenery. Roy and Joy Wmerson organize a not-to-be-missed tennis and holiday experience. I’m already booked for another week in 2023."—D.K., Int., February 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "Last summer I had the great pleasure of attending The Roy Emerson Tennis Week at the Place Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland and plan to return again this year, to this very in demand Superb tennis experience, consisting of top class coaching and instruction by Roy and his world class pros. It was priceless spending time with Roy and his wife and hear him in the evening regale stories from his glory days on the circuit. Afternoons, we played beautifully organized games with new friends from all over the world and daily we enjoyed the most delicious meals, a true gastronomic, paired with excellent wines. The hotel is set in this very beautiful and charming Swiss town of Gstaad where we enjoyed visiting and world class shopping."—J.T., Adv. Int., February 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "We've attended the camp for 8 years and one thing that strikes me each year is that Roy is having at least as much fun as you are. He's been doing this for around 50 years and yet he remains enthusiastic about sharing whatever you can absorb from his experiences. His wife Joy has told us how much she loves returning to Gstaad and the Palace each year, and the preparation and coordination she puts into the weeks reflect this. The package manages to combine elegance with informality. The hotel, staff and food are 5 star, and the setting is out of this world. The assistant pros Roy brings in are very pleasant, competent and flexible and we've enjoyed knowing all of them. There are nice touches such as dinner at a Swiss restaurant and a last night celebration. I think most people who attend would agree that the mid week picnic on a mountain pasture is truly unique. Given everything the week offers, I strongly doubt that anyone else could ever offer anything close. It's a bucket list type experience. And, if you've never attended before, the Virginia Wade story alone is worth the trip."—T.F., Adv. Int., February 2023
  • 5-Ball Rating "I have been going to the Roy Emerson Tennis Week for over 10 years. Sometimes I will spend 2 weeks with Roy and his Tennis Pros. Roys' camp is very organized with exceptional instruction from Roy and the Pros. If anyone is having difficulty with any technique Roy will have someone work with them on an individual basis. This is more than a camp, Roy takes great pride in his Tennis week. It is from his heart, his spirit, that you gain the knowledge and experience that you can take home with you and continue on your path to be a better, stronger tennis player. He makes sure you have 8 hours of tennis every day, even if it rains.........Roy will find a place for you to play, you can count on that. On the last night, Roy hosts a "going away" dinner. If I have heard his story once, I have heard it several other times. I say this because to listen to Roy, his passion for his life experiences allows you to live in the moment. His wife, Joy, is such a gentle spirit. She is at his side making sure everything is in order as he wants. She has such eye for detail; from the moment you walk into the Gstaad Palace you will feel the presence of greatness. As you gaze upon the alps you will leave a piece of you heart there as well and wish for a moment in time to stop. Time goes on and then once again, it is time to come back. You will wish for the time to return to go as quick as it can. Then one day, Roy will call you and it is as if he has once again saved you a place where you and him will join together to make more wonderful stories in his camp. There is always the picnic that will always be a part of your heart as well. No one will ever be able to show you how to make cheese like at the picnic and even better, the cheese is the freshest ever."—R.S., Adv. Int., April 2020

  • 5-Ball Rating "Have been to Roy's magical summers at Gstaad many times, but I feel not often enough. Fifty years straight, Roy has been delighting the lucky attendees with a great setting, sumptuous game improving pros and tennis, and of course his larger than life, legendary wit and personality. Just about 20 to 25 a week, so we all get a lot of attention and feel special. That's why this institution has stood the test of time, much like the beautiful Swiss mountains in which it is nestled."—V.R., Adv., April 2020
  • 5-Ball Rating "Every visit, since 2003, has been "tennis heaven". It's the ultimate combination of excellence: wonderful setting, a none-better hotel, solicitous staff, beautiful clay courts, unbeatable hospitality created by Joy and Roy and pros, and the resultant atmosphere that has become truly addictive."—M.M., Int., April 2020
  • 5-Ball Rating ""The only source of knowledge is experience"... For a tennis buff indulging in Roy Emerson's tennis week at the Palace hotel in Gstaad is the best memory to treasure for the rest of life. Outstanding and passionate tips from Roy makes the love of tennis more intense. Joyful interaction on tennis and anecdotes of "The golden Era" from the legend himself, who holds the world record of 28 grand slams, is the experience you should be honoured and privileged to receive. Thought is a powerful media. Once the thought to go to Gstaad is decided, only effort required is, to send a mail to Joy. Your tennis week works more precisely, more memorably and more JOYFULLY, than experiencing Wimbledon or any other grand slam. Joy is so meticulous, so precise, so gentle and so caring...The ambiance and the spread on the table to treat the taste buds, are outstanding. Time is a premium. Consume the joyful experience soon.."—J.C., Int., April 2020

I specifically am going to better my tennis game, enjoy the views, be pampered, make new friends, see old friends, talk tennis with instructors and Roy, use the Spa, enjoy the atmosphere at dinner and make memories. This week covers it all which is why we will return every year."—E.K., Int., October 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "I have attended Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks for 10 of the last 11 years and hope to participate in 2020. It is held at the Palace Hotel, a five star venue in Gstaad Switzerland. Anytime you look up from the red clay courts you are surrounded by the Alps. The area is beautiful. The tennis is a mix of instruction, drills and doubles play. The instructors are a mix of internationals and Suisse professionals, all with extensive teaching experience and many with tour credentials. With two 2.5 hour sessions (morning and afternoon), there is a lot of tennis. The program does a good job of matching skill levels and tennis intensity as it groups participants for each of the sessions. Roy Emerson is on the court for all of the sessions (from start to finish) and is readily accessible. The Palace Hotel is quite sophisticated in terms of lodging, wine and food and Gstaad offers numerous recreational and cultural opportunities. We always stay before and after the program to enjoy what the area offers. It is a relaxed environment, with the participants coming from diverse and interesting backgrounds. I am always impressed by the number of returnees each year and the number who have attended more than ten years. If you want to drill constantly and hit a ton of balls this program may not be best for you. If you want a lot of fun tennis with diverse and interesting attendees and instructors in a beautiful and sophisticated setting, the Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks is a perfect choice."—T.C., Adv. • 5-Ball Rating "Roy and Joy Emerson are not only the ultimate hosts and friends, but having just returned from my third Gstaad week, you are part of their extended tennis family. Roy, with his trusty clipboard, copious notes and top Aussie spirit, generously shares his time, expertise and energy with every single player—each and every day. His coaching team are top-notch, with many Grand Slam champs eager to share their knowledge and stories in an professional but relaxed setting. The staff of the Palace Hotel are beyond 5-star, and the lodgings, food, service are equally matched by the spectacular Alps scenery. The Roy Emerson Tennis Week is the ultimate tennis experience and holds such a special place in my heart—and I’ll be back again in 2020."—S.P., Adv. Int., October 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "Our 15th camp with Joy and Roy and the Palace! We’ve encouraged friends to come and enjoyed a great camp with them and the friends we’ve made at the Palace through the years. I can’t say enough about the quality of the instruction: the coaches come from all over the world bringing experiences that are unequal at most camps including Grand Slam winners. And that doesn’t even include Roy - one of the winningest players on record! The Palace is a rarity - a family run five star hotel. Plush rooms and outstanding food and service! If you want a tennis camp and a lovely vacation - this is your place!"—K.S., Adv., October 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson’s tennis week are rated number 1 year after year for a reason. With the perfect backdrop of the Swiss Alps and top notch tennis instruction, you won’t find another place that offers what this camp does. Add to that a 5 star hotel and fantastic staff and you’ll be signing up for years to come. It’s the best week of the year."—C.F., Adv., October 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "2019 was our sixth consecutive year attending the Emerson camp. We keep returning because this is a tennis experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. It's obvious Roy loves sharing his knowledge and experience with anyone regardless of ability. He's able to call in a group of excellent pros who are patient and very good teachers, and we've been happy with all of them. Part of the uniqueness is the combination of informality and elegance. The Palace is a first class hotel and the meals are very good. The staff strive for the best service, yet they are friendly and easygoing, and seem pleased that you are able to be there. Roy and his wife Joy are fully involved--they are the tennis program administration. Everything is handled through them, so the service is quite personal. That in itself is pretty rare (can I say unique again?). Finally, where else can you enjoy a great buffet served by the hotel staff on a mountain pasture followed by Roy Emerson leading the a cappella singing of Edelweiss from the porch of a rustic cheesemaking hut for the entertainment of the local herd of cows? In the Alps. The Swiss Alps."—T.F., Adv. Int., October 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "An exceptional experience. Tennis is absolutely professional. Roy, Joy and the pros are interested in you. You are always being watched, evaluated and instructed. If you have an area which you would both like and probably should improve - they are there for you. The pairings are spot on. Since my first time here, I have looked forward to partaking in this amazing experience every year and will continue to return. Having a legend like Roy Emerson instruct you is such a valuable asset to your tennis game, and the international pros cannot be more helpful. The Palace has mastered the art of hospitality. The rooms are lovely and the views are straight out of a postcard. The graciousness of Joy and Roy Emerson is the hallmark of such a wonderful week filled with tennis, great food, beautiful mountains, and camaraderie. I cannot identify a weakness, except that the week should be longer! Might I suggest the Roy Emerson Tennis Fortnight?"—E.C., Int., August 2019

Everything is perfect about that place- ROY EMERSON and his lovely wife Joy- they have been married 60 years, red clay courts and all coaches are super professional and helpful, hotel itself and restaurants with most delicious food and wine selection... and breathing mountain surroundings... Although program is the same for every tennis week- I love every minute of it- from tennis and spa to picnic in mountain’s farm. It’s just perfect."—L.M., Adv. Int., August 2019

  • 5-Ball Rating "We took our family of 5 here for a wonderful break in July of 2018. Roy and Joy are truly two of the most incredible people who you will ever meet. The resort was stunning and our connecting room was exactly what we would have dreamed of for this trip. It seemed that mostly everyone was a returning guest which says a lot. Roy and Joy his wife make this a week like no other. They have very specific things scheduled for each night after you play. The tennis and courts were wonderful and the pros a ton of fun. The pool is not so great and kept way too cold. The pool in the spa however was fantastic but did not allow children except on certain days and times. This is not really a trip to take young kids...there is not enough for them to do and you will want to play tennis all day. It is more appropriate for couples or individuals. This is an experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend you go before they decide not to have it anymore!! Just amazing!!"—E.W., Adv., April 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "This coming summer will be our third year of participation in the Roy Emerson tennis weeks in Gstaad, Switzerland. We first went on the recommendation of friends who had attended and were blown away by the combination of Roy's active participation (including personal attention to each student during the week, from which I have benefited greatly!), the assembly of talented and personable pros he brings together as faculty (ratio is usually 3 students to 1 pro, lots of individual attention!), the amount of teaching and tennis--5 hours a day, much more than in a lot of the tennis camps we have researched. Yet, the schedule is very civilized, with a long lunch hour between morning and afternoon sessions. Our setting, the Gstaad Palace, is truly a Grand Hotel in the old tradition, with lovely rooms in a gorgeous setting, top-notch service, and a kitchen that consistently produces mouth-watering options, of which there are many. Plus the price is all inclusive of the tennis camp, plus room and full board. We love the hotel so much we add extra days around our tennis week. This year we have recruited 4 other members of the Palm Springs Tennis Club to join us."—T.P., Int., April 2019

The town of Gstaad is wonderful and the view of the mountains made waking up every morning a special treat. But the real treats were Roy and Joy Emerson who are wonderful hosts, dedicated to giving every guest a great experience. My husband and I play at different levels but they arranged the small groups so we both had great tennis. Roy is an insightful teacher and seems to take great pleasure helping middle aged ladies improve their strokes and their strategy! I have an aversion to hard courts and Roy always made sure I had a clay court. One half day is devoted to a picnic in the mountains which is impossibly beautiful. Roy collects terrific pros from all over the globe and they are enthusiastic, fun people who are also great teachers. I cannot recommend the Roy Emerson tennis week more strongly. It's simply the best --and I have been to a lot of tennis camps."—A.T., Int., March 2018
  • 5-Ball Rating "Tennis heaven. My wife and I have been to the Roy Emerson Tennis Week twice and would like to go every year. The whole experience is extraordinary. The setting is breathtaking. The hotel, the service and the food are spectacular. But we went for the tennis and that was even better. The facilities are terrific with indoor and outdoor courts available depending on the weather. The pros and the quality of the teaching were superb. While the play or drills are usually in groups of 4, there is enough individual attention for a given student's "issues." Roy Emerson and his wife Joy are absolutely delightful, charming and hilarious. Roy's personality pervades the entire experience with a love of tennis and his sense of humor to offset the inevitable frustrations of trying to improve your tennis. And Roy is not just a figure head. Although he has been doing it for decades he is actually on the court teaching every day. The other pros are from around the world and it makes for a fabulous adventure."—C.T., Adv., March 2018
  • 5-Ball Rating "If you are a tennis afficianado, this is definitely THE premier tennis camp for you. Playing on perfectly groomed red clay tennis courts surroudnded by the majestic Swiss mountains is the experience of a lifetime. Roy Emerson and his amazing tennis teaching staff, all of whom have either played in one or more of the four majors, and/or captained a Davis Cup team, give you their undivided attention. With a ratio of three players to one professional for each 2.5 hour hour session (2x per day) you have an opportunity to improve one major tennis skill each day i.e. serve, overhead, volley, backhand, forehand, slice, doubles strategy. Last time I was there one individual was a raw beginner and every morning session they had one-on-one instruction. Every morning and afternoon Roy spends a lot of time figuring out the best threesome for each group. You get to play some mixed, women’s/men’s with individuals all at your level. Roy’s sense of humor and genuine interest in each individual no matter how old or young or experienced or novice you are makes you feel completely embraced into that session’s tennis family. Additionally, Roy’s wife, Joy always ensures that all is running smoothly, and is available to help figure out excursions or shopping tips for everyone. Ten years ago, the first time I attended I went solo and I must admit I was quite nervous but after the first evening’s welcome cocktail I knew I was going to have a lot of fun. Most of the people I met the first evening had been attending for 15 years and I befriended two ladies who had been coming each year for 30 plus years, one of whom, now in her 90’s still participates in back to back sessions every year. You would think that those individuals who return every year would stick to themselves but that is not the case. Every newcomer is embraced into the group. I’ve since attended as a couple, or with a group of friends, and each time I return, the experience is somehow even more enjoyable. The Palace Hotel in Gstaad is truly a five star hotel. The food is amazing, the service outstanding, and the staff ensure that every need is met even before you think about asking for something. They remember your preferences for your morning coffee, any allergies or dietary restrictions you have and even whether or not you have a favorite cocktail in the evening. I’ve only been able to attend every other year because of the distance from California and can you imagine how impressed I was the second time I was there, after a two year absence, that I was called by name and asked at breakfast if I still liked my latte extra hot? Every morning when I awaken and look out of my hotel window and look at the magnificent view I am humbled by the majesty of the mountains and find myself being reflective and appreciative of life. The hotel rooms are comfortable and the housekeeping staff are available to attend to every need. It’s not just about the tennis at Roy’s tennis week. It’s also about meeting interesting, sophisticated, and intriguing individuals from all over the world, forming friendships, relaxing over a pre-dinner cocktail, walking into the beautiful town of Gstaad to do some high end shopping, being treated to a “picnic” in the mountains catered by the Palace Hotel and enjoying the views and the sunshine. Of course, there is also the Spa to indulge yourself as often as you like. The huge outdoor hot tub is a favorite gathering place after the afternoon tennis to relax those muscles after two active tennis sessions each day. The last evening everyone gathers in Guildo’s restaurant where Guilio sings opera and Roy entertains us with stories from the years he was on the circuit. I pretty much know all the words to Waltzing Matilda now and sing it along with all my fellow campers with more and more gusto each year. I love the sophistication of the hotel, getting dressed up for dinner, and being thoroughly spoiled and attended to in every way. I don’t know of any other program or hotel where you get this big of a “bang for your buck”. The wine cellar is world class and the kitchen tour definitely worth a look see. The only think I can’t comment on is the junior tennis program or children’s program because I have no experience with it. One thing is for sure, you can count on my being there every other year whether I go alone, with a partner, or a group of friends. Tighten your seatbelt, you are in for the experience of a lifetime."—C.S., Adv., February 2018
  • 5-Ball Rating "Want the best overall tennis camp experience ever; get “Gstaadified”. How ?, simple, pick a week or two in summer & attend the Roy Emerson Tennis camps in Gstaad Switzerland. There are four definitive parts to the Gsaatdification process: Step 1- The Tennis. Roy Emerson himself is in charge of this. He gives daily lessons/demonstrations; usually covering a stroke or aspect of the game, to begin the day for the campers as a group. Then he turns you loose with staff of exceptional teaching pros. AM sessions were practice , a break for a sumptous lunch, PM for matches. When I attended we usually had 2- 3 players with one instructor; sometimes 1-1 for AM sessions. Frequently, a doubles game would break out with 3 campers & a pro; great playing kessons. Frosting on the cake, Roy would bounce from group to group to give a few Aussie Pearls. Afternoon camper vs camper matches, doubles & singles. Roy has an unbelieveable knack of putting players of near same ability together; so matches were competitive & fun. Learn a lot, play a lot, laughed a lot. This not a boot camp experience; it’s a fun tennis experience with a big hunk of learning for all kevels of players. STEP2- Joy Emerson takes over this step; the ultimate camp organizer & hostess. From the moment you sign up till you leave she is there for you. Makes sure you’re room is right, throws a great welcome dinner; first class mid week picnic (catered by Gstaad Palace hotel) up on the mountainside; a midweek dinner at local restaurant, then a real blowout farewell dinner. Joy makes your tennis week Joyous. STEP 3- A rather nice setting for a tennis camp; no, correction please; an absolutely unbelieveable setting. Beautful, breathtaking mountains & valleys, fresh mountain air, not too hot, not too cool. Hey, this is Gstaad, one of most premier european winter destinations and unreal in the summer. The red clay courts framed by some of the best mountain scenery in europe; give me a break. STEP 4-you get to eat three splendid meals a day in first class dining venues. First class 5 star service, why not ! your staying at a 5 star hotel; the famous Gstaad Palace. This place has a luxurious spa facility, indoor & outdoor pools & jacuzzis, and really great sekection of massaged with a spa staff that knows what they are doing. Great grounds and unreal views from rooms, lounges & dining areas. In a word it’s an experience. So this is how I got “Gstaadified” & why I strongly reccommend you consider getting “Gstaadified” too. And to top it off you get to spend a week in the Swiss mountains with two of the nicest people my wife & have ever met. Great Ambassadors for Australia; Joy & Roy Emerson. And oh yes , Mr. Emerson has a bit of a tennis pedigree"—H.S., Int., February 2018

Roy is hands on with daily instruction and several opportunities for social interaction. The Palace is pristine in location, amenities and service with gracious and attentive staff. This will be one of the best tennis weeks of your life. I honestly have not one negative thing to say. If you are considering a tennis vacation or tennis camp, do not miss this chance to attend this world class, second-to-none experience. Seriously. I'm a 5.0, former collegiate tennis player and am so thankful that I signed up for this experience. First and foremost, Roy and Joy are incredible hosts - I learned about life, tennis history and of course, tennis from each of them. Roy is a true raconteur and his stories will keep you entertained all week. The setting is absolutely sublime. The courts, the hotel, the views, the food, the spa are all truly second to none. In fact, I think the value on this experience is exceptional. There is instruction/game play for any level. Roy will make sure you get your work in regardless of your ability. Trust me, I like nothing more than to exhaust myself on the courts, and Roy saw to that daily. He brings world class instructors from around the world. I can't recommend this highly enough. I will be back and will be bringing family and friends on future weeks. So, while Roy is still doing this camp, do it! You will not regret it. Oh, and PS, I found this camp via Tennis Reviews Online. The setting is unbelievable with the Gstaad Palace offering every comfort imaginable, both food and service being superb. I wasn't even a tennis buff, before I grumpily accompanied my wife the first time I went, and since then have been an absolute convert. It is an amazing holiday with tennis at its heart, and I would not pass up on it The whole week is structured brilliantly and flashes by all too fast, with a real comradery formed and friendships that continue from one year to the next. I couldn't think of a nicer place to play tennis and with the presence of Roy all week long on the courts, laughs are guaranteed!"—A.B., Int., March 2017
  • 5-Ball Rating "The Gstaad Palace is an iconic hotel, and for all the right reasons, in spite of being palatial, it feels like home as it is still run by the family that own it who are very much hands on with the staff and guests. Returning each year for Roy's tennis week is a treat in every sense, everything is familiar, the staff are fantastic, and the food superlative. Meals are served either on the beautiful sunny terrace overlooking the mountains, or in their beautiful dining rooms, with an air of elegance but informal and friendly too. The grounds of the Palace are beautiful with the Spa and pools being a focus for after tennis activities. The massages are some of the best I have ever had. Moving on to the tennis, we couldn't be in better hands with Roy and his team, who make every session such fun to be on court. Instruction is followed by supervised play, and everyday lends itself to getting better in an atmosphere of fun and competitiveness in equal measure, with the right mindset, it couldn't be more enjoyable. The coaches are fantastic, and the week is split up by a gastronomic picnic up in the mountains....Sound of Music style, as we have a lovely sing- a-long to end an amazing afternoon away from the courts, deepening already well formed friendships, it is a laugh! It is a unique set up, can't be bettered, because the level of professionalism yet familiarity are beautifully balanced, and Joy, Roy's wife, steps in quickly if there are any niggles, which there rarely are, ironing them out to meet everyone's approval. Lastly I don't even need to describe the accommodation at the Palace as it is nothing short of sumptuous, you wouldn't expect anything less! So one word of advice....GO!"—M.B., Adv. Int., March 2017
  • 5-Ball Rating "Seven years ago, having never picked up a tennis racquet, my husband asked if I would like to learn the game. I understood this was a sport that occupied a lot of his time. I saw other women playing tennis and I never really had the opportunity. My husband took me out and begun to give me instructions. He lost his patients after a time and we decided to employ a pro to work with me. I worked hard and started to really like the exercise. After a year we decided to go to Europe for vacation. We found the Roy Emerson Tennis Week through the internet. When we made the reservations I thought I would be sort of excluded, and I would just be watching. Wow, was I wrong. Roy, himself took me aside and worked with me. He instructed the pro's on what he thought I needed. I will never forget the attention I received and how much better I played after one week. I left with so much more confidence, to really be a player. Each year we find a way to go back for a week of outstanding food, magnificent scenery and great tennis. We stay in an actual palace for the week and are truly treated as royalty. You have access to a spa, with professional therapist, to give you one free massage, a work out room with machines you have never seen before. The indoor pool is vast and heated with more water massage machinery if you chose. All this is included in the price along with a trip for an outdoor picnic surrounded by the most beautiful mountains in the world. I can only tell you one thing, that I am tremendously proud of, I AM NOW RATED AS A (4.0 ) AND GOING BACK FOR MORE. Anybody interested in improving their game, should not overlook this outstanding week of learning and playing the game of tennis with several great players watching and improving your tennis. Good Luck"—M.R., Int., March 2017

  • 5-Ball Rating "This is a great week of tennis instruction as well as tennis playing. Demo's are done each morning and afternoon by Roy Emerson and then a set of three players at matching levels plus one tennis professional move to a court to first practice what was demonstrated in the lesson, then play fun tennis for the remainder of the time allocated. The tennis professionals come from all over the world including Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, USA, & France to name a few. Most, if not all have excelled in tennis and have played tennis at the highest level including French Open, Wimbledon, US Open, and Australian Open. It's obvious that Roy Emerson chooses the professional players who teach in Gstaad not only for their outstanding tennis ability and talent, but also for their friendly, caring, thoughtful, patient, and considerate approach to their students. It is amazing to be on the court with them, to learn from them, and have them share with us their love of tennis. Even though this tennis camp is great in terms of value for money, it is often the cost of the airfare & travel time from USA that makes people think twice about it. I would encourage anyone who even starts to think about going to go, because if you can only go once -- it will be one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you will recall with great enjoyment and pleasure -- and you will unknowingly become the reason why most of your friends will make plans to attend. The Palace Hotel is an exceptionally fine hotel with service and food that equals the tennis experience. After the first night most staff were calling me by name, knew my preferences for tea/coffee, sparkling/still water etc. The hotel became my home away from home, only I didn't have to do anything other than relax and enjoy being spoiled after a fantastic day of tennis. I would recommend that if you didn't easily adjust to time change, to arrive a few days ahead. In Gstaad you are playing at altitude so that could be a negative for some people. Everything else is a big POSITIVE!"—M.P., Adv., April 2016

The setting is unbeatable the Gstaad Palace high up on a hill overlooking the chic town which you can walk to in a matter of minutes. What I find most impressive about the Palace is yes the old fashioned luxury of course of the hotel, but the really down to earth friendly service that is accorded to one and all...these guys are old hats at the game, and the experience blazons through Meals are outstanding and the layout of the pool and tennis courts and lovely terrace on which we lunch weather permitting is just bliss. The week is broken up with plenty of little treats such as an afternoon up in the mountains picnicking in such a heavenly surroundings you feel Julie Andrews will burst onto the scene singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music!" and then in complete Emmo style the afternoon ends with Waltzing Matilda belted out even by the local farmers! How can you not enjoy yourself? Don't get me wrong though the tennis is seriously good too.Roy picks up immediately on what you need to work on and can be devilish by sending you off on a one to one with a coach for the afternoon to sort it. Lucky if you can roll out of bed the next day! All the coaches make you feel good about your tennis and it is fun to rotate amongst them, each day, all of them adding to your game in a special way. It is like one big family and jokes galore whilst you feel you can't run another forehand down, somehow you do! Oh I guess I could ramble on endlessly but I hope you have gathered a sense of feeling, it is special, no words do it justice, and always lurking in the background is Joy (Roy's wife) making sure all little niggles are ironed out immediately and without fuss. Cannot recommend it enough, just go!"—M.B., Adv. Int., April 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "You won't have a better experience anywhere. The Palace Hotel is one of the best in the world and the staff treat you like family. Food is exceptional, enjoyed with mountain views. But Roy Emerson's tennis camp is exceptional. Roy and Joy immediately welcome you, overlooking every detail personally. All of the instructors are magnificent and don't try and overhaul your game. Roy is on court with you all the time and gives everyone personal attention. Once you attend you'll come back year after year."—M.C., Int., April 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "There are no weaknesses, in the week's experience that is. Only in players trying to improve their games. But that too is helped by the excellent and personal instruction of Roy's select team of pros. Roy himself is the pro-player in chief and always willing to spend individual time with participants. The exquisite setting of Gstaad and the Palace Hotel combine to make this "Tennis Heaven". Not an exaggeration."—M.M., Int., April 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson has set up a great tennis program aimed at satisfying YOU. He managed to put it in a gorgeous location at a top notch hotel where the staff provide friendly, excellent service. Due to a family emergency, Joy and Roy could not attend our 2015 week. While disappointing, it gave us the privilege of meeting Roy's daughter Heidi and Neil Murray, who were wonderful substitutes. The program ran as smoothly as 2014. It also emphasized what great choices Roy makes in selecting assistant pros. They were all very skilled, patient and helpful, and were key to making it a terrific week of tennis. The special touches of a mountain picnic and dinner at a Swiss restaurant topped off a very unique experience. We expected 2014 to be a one-time visit. We returned in 2015, we're looking forward to 2016 and plan to come back as many years as possible."—M.F., Int., March 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "SUPERB Experience! I have attended many national and international tennis camps, this one takes the cake! Roy is a hands on, involved at every level, patient instructor who worked tirelessly with me to improve my game. Motivating, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor, Roy made sure that we all benefitted from this many years of teaching experience .On and off the courts this vacation has been consistently outstanding!! Another asset of the camp is the international team of fit tennis pros who will give you a good run for your money. They will chase each ball down, play out balls and cover the entire court in doubles. :)) The setting in the Swiss Alps is a dream come true, as is the Palace Hotel which lives up to its royal name While Roy is on the courts, his wife Joy organized fun picnics, Swiss evenings & dinners filled with music and camaraderie. This camp is without a doubt an absolute ACE which should not be missed!"—I.V., Int., March 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "The majestic and magnificent Swiss Alps surround the Town of Gstaad where you will find the Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks at the world famous Gstaad Palace Hotel. We consider ourselves "regulars" having enjoyed and participated in Roy's Tennis Weeks over many years and we look forward to our next trip. Needless to say the accommodations in the Gstaad Palace Hotel are first class. The meals are included in the package and are classic european, excellently prepared and presented by Gildo, who is the top chef at the hotel. His pasta dishes are unbelievable. Now for the tennis. Beautiful red clay courts, maintained under the watchful eye of Roy who is always present on the courts when there is play. He never tires of giving advice to the participants regardless of their level. The number of guests is limited so that everyone gets personal attention from him and the several professionals he invites to the camp. You can play as much or as little as you desire and of course there is the delightful town of Gstaad to explore. A fun thing is the picnic high in the mountains and watching how swiss cheese is made. For a super tennis vacation, out of the ordinary, Roy Emerson's Tennis Weeks are highly recommended. PS. The short train trip on the narrow gauge railway to Gstaad is delightful, with great views of the Swiss Alps."—A.M., Adv. Int., March 2016

There during the sum mer months 12 time Grand Slam champion Roy Emerson presides over his famous Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks. The Hotel is exceptional with the reputation of catering to some of the most discriminating guests in the world. The courts are red clay and always in top condition. The food is superb. Roy is always there on the courts, couching, commenting and cajoling as only he can do with wife Joy assuring that each guest will have a wonderful tennis experience and vacation. Ana and I have participated in the Roy Emerson Tennis weeks for five years and each time we leave it is with the anticipation of our next visit which we are now planning. The instructors are very high level and do a great job of working with every player on their court. That alone would be the most worthwhile weeks of their tennis life. If you choose the week in July you would also understand that the Swiss Open is walking distance from your hotel. Many of the highest ranked players warm up with their coaches right next to you The food (Paid for in the deal) was so good that it strikes you easily as one of the finest restaurants you have ever visited. The service is of the highest level. I can go on and on about this wonderful place, but just to let you know how great it was, it was the third time my wife and I went back. All, and all, you really get a lot for your money. Free instructions from real pro's, trips to the ever great Alps mountains and all the great tennis you want twice a day. We have tried them all and you just can't beat this one."—L.R., Adv. Int., March 2016

The tennis instruction was top notch- appropriately instructing and correcting without being imposing or demanding. My fellow 'campers' were from all over the world and while being tennis players and enthusiasts they have other lives, professions and interests. They were cultured and interesting people and that was an added benefit to the fun! The Gstaad Paiace is sonething special. If you have the time and the means to attend this camp do so. It is a most memorable vacation-trip-place and most importantly- tennis experience!"—M.R., Int., December 2014

First of all the magnificient setting of the superb Palace Hotel in the Bernois mountains of Switzerland is second to nothing. If you want to work on the focus aspect of your game, this is the place for you because the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and you'll have a hard time concentrating on the court. The week's planning is flawless, the instruction is top rate, including incredible hands-on instruction from Roy himself, and there is a good mix of levels to ensure you're matched with others who are comparable to your play. The accommodation is stunning and rivals the best hotels I've stayed in around the world. What more can you ask for? Would love to balance the review with weaknesses, but have absolutely none to report --- even with my most critical eye. Can't wait to return....."—S.A., Adv. Int., July 2013
  • 4½-Ball Rating "This is definitely a tennis week like no other. You should definitely come away with some improvement to your game, but there is just one problem - if Roy is watching and making some of his inimitable comments, it's hard to concentrate and hit a good shot and not collapse with laughter!
To play on the courts at the Palace with the hotel behind you and the glorious mountains in front of you is magic - the crack of the ball off the racket is pretty good too! Roy and his great team of coaches make you work though - not a problem, as you can then do justice to the fabulous meals prepared by master chef Peter. Halfway through the week you get a respite: a picnic lunch in the mountains and an afternoon free to explore the village or relax in the spa.
Roy's lovely wife Joy is an expert on the region, and can always tell you the good places that are worth a visit, and the best hiking and walking trails. What more could you want - other than a forehand like Nadal and a backhand like Federer?! After a week with Roy and co., anything is possible!"

However, the very unique thing about this tennis camp is that Roy Emerson himself participates and shows how it should be done. There is no better way than learning from such a successful former pro like Roy. By the way, don't waste your time and try to beat him on the court - even tough he is already in his middle 80s, you won't stand a chance. Just amazing!

Gstaad is a perfect picture-card Swiss village, and the Gstaad Palace is an excellent base, not just to play tennis but also to eat excellent food and to relax after the intensive tennis sessions. It was also nice to see that most of the coaches from 2011 were on court again (and they generally remembered my weaknesses from the previous year!)
The coaching is of a very high standard but it's also great fun - Roy's great sense of humour helps to make it so.

Roy brings in young teaching pros from all over the world, and there are never more than four students on a court with a pro. The hotel has a very nice new spa, a 25-meter swimming pool and an indoor-outdoor pool as well as a large jacuzzi.
Each guest is given a free massage during the week. On one day, some of the cooks from the Hotel kitchen put on a nice picnic at a cheese farm in the mountains. The scenery there is spectacular. The week begins with an evening reception where the teaching pros are introduced and ends with a farewell cocktail hour and dinner. • 4½-Ball Rating "The tennis coaching is excellent, with a dedicated team who's individual and combined experience is arguably second to none, led by the great tennis legend Roy Emerson. Like all tennis holidays you may want to get an idea in advance of standard and ages to help you gauge the week that works best for you and/or your party. The team mixing and integration ensures everyone gets lots of play throughout the week, covering all areas of the game whilst being incredibly sociable.
The position is beautiful with mountains surrounding the tennis courts. Alternative arrangements are made if it rains as this is predominately outdoors. The atmosphere is fun, friendly and active and a rapport is built with all guests, between each other and with the coaching team. Pack lots of clothes (along with your sense of humour) as you certainly work-out! As this is a beautiful hotel with staff that take great pride and attention to ensuring you have a fabulous stay, you'll probably want to dress up in the evening to compliment them, the other hotel guests and the setting.
I would definitely book this again and the percentage of repeat visitors speaks for itself!"

  • 5-Ball Rating "In a word, the experience of attending Roy Emerson's Tennis Weeks is surreal. There was not a single part of the time we spent in Switzerland that was not world class. It's truly difficult to pick a "best" part of the trip and there are an insufficient number of superlatives to describe the tennis, the views, the hotel staff service, the food, the accommodations, the other players in our camp, and the pros.
Most important of all was the amazing atmosphere created by Roy and Joy Emerson. During the months leading up to our trip, they patiently answered our myriad questions and wee cannot say enough about what gracious hosts they were during our stay. Would we do it again? Absolutely!"

Once we got past the first day of inspired mountain views, spectacular hotel comforts, and charming staff… we realized the inspiration starts all over again each day. There was not a single session on the courts that we didn't catch ourselves staring off toward the slopes and valleys – we did try to stay more focused during service returns and overhead smashes.
The food, like everything else, is top quality. Don't miss the picnic in the mountains!
The pros were dedicated to improving my game. It's hard to top the experience of Roy Emerson, Ramesh Krishnan, Antony Emerson, and George Bezecny.
In the end, Roy and Joy Emerson have created an amazing tennis experience in the Swiss alps. Everyone is made to feel apart of a larger family, eager to return. We look forward to next year."

  • 5-Ball Rating "As a relative newcomer to the sport, I was looking for a week of concentrated tennis coaching in a nice environment with first class accommodation. Of course, the name 'Roy Emerson' was the first attraction to this camp, but I also asked my Swiss friends their opinions on the Gstaad Palace. Their views convinced me that this would be the right location and I duly signed up for a week in July 2011.
I have to say I wasn't disappointed in any way. Both Roy and Joy made everyone feel very welcome from the start and it was nice to mix with nice people from a variety of countries. The tennis coaches were all very experienced and above all, patient. I received a lot of individual coaching from Roy and from the other coaches and I can say that my modest game improved significantly as a result of this week.
The Palace Hotel is excellent with first class facilities and fine dining and the lunchtime picnic in the mountains was quite delightful. I'm going back again in July this year."

  • 5-Ball Rating "I attend the Roy Emerson Tennis week in September 2011. Roy and Joy Emerson are the consumate hosts. They both warm and hospitable. Also, Roy's Aussie sense of humour both on and off the court was very entertaining. Because most of the coaches also stayed at the resort it meant that they ate and socialise with everyone. This I found to be a fantastic touch to the week at Gstaad.
The biggest stength of this tennis week is that each player is exposed to wide variety of coaches (including Roy himself) and they cater for a diverse range of standards. Being a regular club player, I was concerned about the level of play and the amount I could learn. I was pleasantly suprised in that I learnt something from each of the coaches and that the organised scratch matches were mainly of a high level.
This setup had its downside in that I found that certain coaches to be more suited to my style of play than others and because of the rotation system, I was unable to spend more time with them. Having said that, I found the experience with each coach to be pleasant and I noticed that Roy endeavoured to cater for everyone and all requests that were made.
The accommodation at Gstaad Palace was impeccable. My room was superb and the staff at Gstaad Palace were friendly and polite. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional in the restrauant.
The only small issue I had was that it was not clear what food and drinks were included and excluded from the Roy Emerson week package. Of course this is only minor issue because the friendly staff at the Gstaad Palace were happy to clarify this, but it would have been nice not to have to do this.
Be aware that some of the drinks at the Gstaad Palace bar are very expensive, but I suppose this is to be expected in a 5 star hotel! However, if you stick to the package deal provided, the week represents good value.
Overall, I rate this week very highly and would not hesitate to recommend it to my fellow tennis players."

  • 4½-Ball Rating "Time is money. Time here was well spent on what I felt to be personal instruction. The mighty man himself, Mr Emerson would start each of the 2 daily sessions with a demonstration and insight to the world of tennis that us mortals only see on television. His anecdotes should be serialised.
The coaches are very sharp; my game was tested to the full. Fitness was notably missing in my game. It was good to have one on one sessions, practice, try, develop a bigger repertoire. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, but it could have been held in the forecourt of a prison and still be brilliant, for the tennis was what I went for and what I got. Pairing up was always judged right by the coaching team, so there was no disparity in games.
Everyone was offered Mr Emerson's expert knowledge both individually and in a group that he takes in all sessions. Yes, I was holding the racket too hard, but due to the years of using shovels I didn't notice, but he spotted it at 100 yards!!. Light hands, and let the racket head go in the direction of the ball, great insight, words that I'll remember and take with me on court.
Yes, you may have to re-mortgage the house, but what you'd get is a week of the best tennis of your life, and from a man that is so genuine, he seems to be a long lost uncle!!
The Emerson family are there, his wife Joy is a good hostess and makes you feel at home and welcomed. His son Tony, is one of the coaches and has the patience of a saint, will stay on court with you knocking 'till you are tired; not very long!"

  • 5-Ball Rating "This is as close to a Utopian experience for a tennis player as possible. The setting is amazing, with beautifully maintained clay courts laid out with a view of a glacier even in the summertime. The tennis is both challenging and instructive: Roy demonstrates a separate stroke or strategy twice a day, which is then followed by a two-hour session with either Roy or one of the seasoned pros.
The week is filled with humor and good cheer, all with an exquisite array of great food and wines, a professional hotel staff that is mostly constant over the 10-years we have been there, and, if more is needed, an Olympic-size pool and world-class spa. Joy Emerson adds the final touch of fun and grace to the week, and by the end of the week you feel like you've joined a tennis family."

  • 4½-Ball Rating "simply put have had a great time. The pros, the setting, the company have been wonderful. As long as i am physically fit i will be coming annually to Gstaad and Roys camp. I cant wait until my teenager can join me at the camp and receive the occasional caustic yet spot on pearls of wisdom from the Great man himself. I am a decent player but 2 little hints from Roy and my game has improved dramatically this year.
I would probably prefer a few more drills tossed in but one plays so much tennis during the week that it probably has little impact. Gstaad Palace is a sight to behold and the general atmosphere is incomparable no matter what level of tennis one plays."

  • 5-Ball Rating "2011 marked our 6th tennis week in Gstaad with Roy and all his wonderful instructors! The tennis is amazing and the Palace Hotel is unparalleled in service and cuisine. Joy and Roy Emerson's attention to detail makes the week a joy. When you break down the hotel, meals, and instruction - the value is unbeatable. You could not have the same experience anywhere else in the world. Weaknesses: somedays the mountains are only gorgeous instead of breathtaking."—K.S., Adv. Int., November 2011
  • 4½-Ball Rating "This was our 10th visit. Great pros, beautiful facilities, terrific group of participants from around the world, plus the warm atmosphere created by Roy Emerson and his wife Joy. Roy makes the program work for players of all ages and levels. Hotel is over-the-top in elegance, great food and service."—S.S., Adv., November 2011
  • 4½-Ball Rating "The Camp is professionally run. Roy's enthusiasm is infectious. He pays individual attention to everyone and makes learning a joyful experience. All the Coaches are trained so well to look at individual needs. Joy Emerson brings in the homely touch. Both of them take every effort to ensure that you and your wife are well taken care of.We are vegetarians. They spoke to the Chef and the MatD so that we did not go hungry.
The Spa and the ambience of the Hotel is outstanding. The Palace is ideally situated with the best view of the mountains."

  • 5-Ball Rating "A ten out of ten experience on every level. The tennis instruction was extraordinary. Without wanting to change my whole game, I was given wonderful advice for great improvement for all aspects of my game. The location is stunningly beautiful, the accommodations and food five star. Totally recommend the experience without any reservation and can't wait to go back again."—P.E., Int., October 2011
  • 5-Ball Rating "Paradise, with the best tennis instruction I've ever had. I look forward to this tennis week every year. Roy, the pro's, the participants are all great. The Palace Hotel in Gstaad is truly 5 star."—J.V., Adv. Int., October 2011
  • 5-Ball Rating "Best tennis experience ever! Roy and his staff are excellent with new and returning players alike. The instruction, the setting and the social aspects were all wonderful. We even got to sing with Roy and the pros at dinner - remember, "Down the Middle Solves the Riddle!""—J.T., Int., October 2011
  • 5-Ball Rating "I have played tennis at many resorts in the US and Europe but this is by far and away the best week of tennis you will ever have. Roy and Joy are the perfect hosts for an unforgettable experience. The player/coach ratio provides lots of individual instruction and Roy's ability to match you with players of similar abilities will always provide you with good competition. And you will play LOTS of tennis.
I am a strong intermediate player and my wife is intermediate and we both felt that the coaching was perfectly tailored to our individual levels. And the setting in Gstaad in unrivaled - the mountain views will you make forget any bad shot in a moment. The lodging, food, and service at the Palace is truly five-star - the individual service at the hotel matches the individual coaching you receive on court. Be sure to take the tour of the kitchens and wine cellar as well. The week we spent was not just the best week of tennis we have ever had, but the best vacation ever."

  • 5-Ball Rating "Why would anyone go away to tennis camp for a week in Switzerland? The answer is so very simple. This is the best camp in the most beautiful location with wonderful instructors all led by the grand master himself, Roy Emerson. This was our tenth visit, our second visit this year. We went this year in July and in September and the weather is actually more spectacular later than earlier. The hotel and staff are gracious and most important to me: not off-putting.
The hotel is formal but the staff makes me feel right at home even though they are used to dealing with the "hoity-toity" and "high and mighty" all winter long. Wake up to the mountain views, wander down to breakfast in your tennis duds and be sure to get fruit, granola and if you want, eggs to order, Swiss cheeses, and homemade breads (and dozens of other choices.) Then its out to the courts for a morning full of tennis instruction mixed in with doubles games. Then it is time for a shower and lunch on the covered veranda. It would be too difficult to convey how wonderful the food tastes after the morning tennis. Then after a brief rest, it is back to the courts for more instruction, but more emphasis on doubles play.
When the tennis day is over, it is time to get ready to hang out in the huge stainless steel hot tub with its soothing jets and chat with other campers. When it's time for dinner, you can dine with your partner or join other campers who come on their own.
There is no place quite like it in the world and there is no one else like Roy Emerson who is probably the most insightful instructor you will ever meet. Then, there is Joy, Roy's beautiful wife who quietly makes sure that everyone is where they want to be doing what they want to be doing.
This is the best... There is no other way to say it."

  • 5-Ball Rating "The setting was the most inviting. A 100 year old classic European hotel set in a quaint yet upscale resort, Gstaad. The clay courts are as much a part of the ambiance as the hotel. When I saw them on line is all I wanted to do was play on them. The spa is as elegant as any I have been in. The camp includes board and the food was 5star. I heard a camper say "this is a food camp with tennis on the side".
Roy, a great personality, is so fundamental about his tennis that he breaks it down in simple fashion which I completely understood, visualized and implemented. His staff is very hands on and helpful and available. Patient for the beginners yet challenging for advanced players. I received a lot of individual attention, instruction and private time with a pro.
My wife attended and didnt play but had her days full with activities and joined us for all meals, which we could chose alone or socializing with other campers. Very easy going. Well worth the trip and value. I will be back."

  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy Emerson has an uncanny ability to assess your strengths and weaknesses from the first few shots - and to move you around during the week, matching you with other players and coaches who will ensure you play some of the best tennis of your life! And laugh out loud while doing so!
The quality is as high as you could imagine - whether we are talking about the tennis, the teaching or the Palace - quite literally - where the camp is based. The mountain scenery is spectacular - and so is the food - but I bet what you will really remember is the wonderful people - the extraordinary hotel staff, the charismatic tennis pros and, in our experience, many of your fellow players.  "

  • 5-Ball Rating "This is the ultimate tennis week. If you love tennis, you'll love Roy and his crew of coaches - especially his son Antony. The coaching is spot on, you'll never have a dull moment and you'll be in the lap of luxury at the Gstaad Palace.
It is a great privilege to be coached by the great Roy Emerson and everyone gets a fair share of his time and attention. Cross racquets with Roy and your crossing racquets with a true tennis legend.
And if you want something a little special in addition to the tennis, the Spa at the Palace is amazing, the villages are gorgeous and the social events organised by Roy's wonderfully lovely wife, Joy are even more special.
I've now been twice and I can't wait to go again.  "

  • 4½-Ball Rating "In 2004, the USTA magazine had a centerfold in the February issue which was aerial photo of the tennis courts at the Palace Hotel. We were in out family room and I told my husband that we would need to go there that summer. He stated that he had never really had any interest in going to Switzerland. I told him that nonetheless, we were going to Gstaad, Switzerland come summertime so that we could go to the Emerson Tennis Week.
I have reminded him every year since that time that I was right. We eagerly look forward to our camp week every year. The camp is true luxury and so much fun. Roy Emerson is the pro of all pros. He can assess your game in the first 15 minutes of the first session on Monday morning. He will remember from year to year what your strengths and weaknesses are and will put together instruction that is tailor made for your game.
Roy and Joy (Roy's wife) make you feel so welcome that you will instantly feel at home. It is a camp where you can go as a couple or as a solo traveler and have a great time. It is definitely a camp where if you go once, you will be hooked. I must not omit mentioning that the hotel is incredible, the staff is extraordinary, and the setting is spectacular. Gstaad is about three hours by train from Geneva. You really don't need a car during your week at the camp.
Tennis sessions are from 9:30 to 12:00 and 2:30 to 5:00 every day except Wednesday when the whole camp goes to a lovely mountain top to have a traditional Swiss picnic. This is when I remind my husband how he had never wanted to go to Switzerland. He is getting sick of the reminders.  "

  • 5-Ball Rating "For ten years I have attended Roy's and Joy's Wonderful Week of tennis at the fabulous Gstaad Palace with my doubles partner. It's something we look forward to all year, starting the day camp ends while we are on our way back to the US. Many of the pros have become personal friends, staying in touch through the years, and the hotel Staff welcomes us back as if they've been waiting for us all year. It's hard to top an experience like that!!!!"—B.K., Adv. Int., October 2010
  • 5-Ball Rating "the setting is beyond beautiful. the resort is heaven. the tennis is magnificent. those three sentences sum it up.
each july i look forward to my week in gstaad. the days start with the sun shimmering through the mountains and resting on the red clay tennis courts. then breakfast on the patio overlooking the swiss countryside. followed by a lesson from one of the greatest players in history. roy emerson takes the time to watch every player closely and make those little corrections which can greatly enhance your game.
this is followed by three hours, which pass like minutes, on the courts. top notch instructors culled from around the world work with individual players. after the morning lesson a sumptuous lunch again on the patio. then return to the courts in the afternoon for more tennis.
the evenings include: spa treatments by the pool, cocktails in the elegant bar, or resting on the lounges in gardens which look like they were drawn from a henry james novel. the days fly by, the knowledge, and skill gained last a lifetime."

  • 5-Ball Rating "Absolutely Perfect. Extraordinary man Roy Emerson brings together a group of tennis pros from around the world with a group of persons such as my self of all ages who love to play and watch tennis and on top of that hear all Roy's lifelong wonderful stories about the tennis world )and hear his sage wisdom about how to approve one's game). On top of that throw in the most beautiful mountain, hotel, food, and staff and you might say you have quite a wonderful stay. Going every summer has become tradition for me which I hope continues for my lifetime."—M.A., Adv. Int., October 2010
  • 5-Ball Rating "The Roy Emerson Tennis Week set in stunning Gstaad is a must for anyone who wants to raise his or her game to that next level. As you get on to the courts in the morning each day, the great Emerson himself is at hand - ready to coach and coax you forward with patience and humour. The learning, one feels, is almost osmotic: subtle but very effective. The camp is organized around multiple levels - from those at a pretty basic level all the way to seasoned types. In each case, Roy and his battery of exceptional pro coaches take the trouble to examine your game, help you make the necessary corrections - often just enough to make all the difference. And it's not just your game, it's about court craft and strategy too: better ways to approach the net, and when to deploy your repertoire of strokes...the learning is terrific. And at the end of a long day, get pampered by the great staff, the spa and the top-of-line food at the Grand Palace Hotel. As evening draws close, watch the sun set behind the gorgeous snow-clad peaks. My advice: do it!"—A.R., Adv. Int., October 2010
  • 5-Ball Rating "This is the third consecutive year I have been to Gstaad, Switzerland to attend one of Roy Emerson's tennis weeks. I am completely and utterly hooked as indeed is the case with so many others. Once you have been you won't want to go anywhere else! I understand 85% return so that statistic speaks for itself. The reason a week in Gstaad is so enjoyable is because of the beautiful setting, the Gstaad Palace hotel (one of the loveliest hotels in the world) and of course the exceptional tennis instruction. Roy Emerson has such a natural way with him making it all sound so simple and he has his son, Anthony, along with half a dozen handsome, skillful Swiss coaches,to demonstrate how easy it is! By the end of the week, after five hours instruction each day, every muscle starts to ache but Roy's sense of humour is enough to distract even the heavily disabled! The only weakness I can bring to mind is the Swiss franc so start saving now and you'll never regret visiting the best tennis camp in the world!"—J.G., Low Int., October 2010

It was the best time since I used to go to Summer Camp as a kid. Definitely going back next year and hopefully will make it an annual event. If you like tennis and the good life, this is 100% for you!!"

It is nice to be remember each year by the hotel staff " welcome home"... Great way to improve your game while meeting people fromm all over the world and having fun. And if you are single do not worry, you are never excluded... Highly recommended!!"—E.M., Adv. Int., March 2010
  • 5-Ball Rating "After repeated encouragement from friends whose 2010 visit to this camp will be their 10th, I decided to give it a try. On the theory that actions speak louder than words, I will start by saying that 2010 will be my third consecutive year attending and last year I was lucky enough to stay for 2 weeks.
What was so special? I will not be able to capture it all but will mention a few things that stand out. Roy Emerson is not a figurehead who lends his name to this camp. He is the camp. He doesn't make short appearances. He is on the courts before anyone else and leaves at the end of the day. He personally works with some groups and he spends a lot of time and energy getting to know everyone to ensure each is placed in the proper court and has a good time.
Roy and his wife Joy are delightful, accessible and it has been a privilege to have gotten to know them and consider them great friends. The next best thing are the people (coaches and players) the Emersons have attracted over the years. A very high percentage of each group consists of repeat visitors from different parts of the world. In the 2 years I have attended, I have made wonderful friends.
The hotel and the surroundings are spectacular and, if 5 hours of tennis per day is too much, there are fabulous hiking trails and opportunities to do other things like ballooning, paragliding, or simply relaxing in the spa. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and can say that the service at the Gstaad Palace is among the best I have experienced. If you love tennis, great people, getting pampered and having a good time, this is the camp for you."

  • 5-Ball Rating "Aside from the beautiful backdrop of the Swiss Alps and the idylic town of Gstaad at the 5 star Gstaad Palace, you get top notch tennis instruction by Roy and his team of instructors. Its an intense week of tennis but Roy's charm permeates through the program. He has created a unique culture at the camp so you find that despite physically pushing yourself through 5 hours of tennis a day, your will also often find yourself laughing and smiling. The spa is an ideal spot to unwind after a long day on the courts -- probably one of the best in Europe in my opinion. This was my first tennis camp vacation and I know that I will be returning in 2010. I now understand why over 90% of participants in my week were either returning participants or newbies like me who hope to return. Roy Emerson's tennis week is a hard habit to break!"—C.L., Low Int., November 2009
  • 5-Ball Rating "Roy is a wonderful man - one of the great tennis players with plenty of stories of life on the tours, insights into other players as well as a terrific coach. He is interested in YOU, and gives you full measure. You are surrounded by the Swiss Alps while you play and at night you can enjoy the full ambience of the 5* Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland along with amazing food."—R.R., Adv. Int., October 2009
  • 5-Ball Rating "When you start with Gstaad, Switzerland, add to it a five star hotel renowned for its food, accomodations, old world service, what more is there to say...? Well, you can talk about Roy Emerson and his family. Roy, his wife Joy, and son and daughter each play a role in making, both your stay in Switzerland, and the tennis, a most memorable experience.
I am an above average player, who was unsure that I wanted to participate in what one would believe was a "group" lesson. My fears quickly evaporated. Roy prepares for each class religiously. He knows your name, how you play, and how he can help you. He arranges the groups so you are constantly being challenged. The ratio of instuctors to students is near perfect. I never had a day where I felt cheated of an instuctor's time. Roy has learned to make a group lesson an "individual" lesson, every day. There wasn't a day when I didn't learn something new, or be reminded of a long forgotten way of hitting the ball.
This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning, the "fun" you'll have learning tennis from Roy. Whether it is the Aussie style or just Roy, you will find yourself laughing with Roy and walking around with a big grin on your face. The only complaint I heard, was on the last day when my many new friends and I, couldn't believe how fast the week had flown by...I'll be back!"

  • 5-Ball Rating "What can I say. Roy Emerson is the best. A week with him and his wonderful family and staff from both Switzerland and the rest of the world is marvelous. I am in heavan. • 5-Ball Rating "Roy and Joy Emerson are very lovely people who host an outstanding week of tennis. The 5 hours of dedicated tennis instruction during each day of the week provided the perfect amount of drills and competition. I was sad to leave, and actually considered attending again during the same year. Lovely time!"—M.H., Int., October 2009
  • 5-Ball Rating "Returning to the Roy Emerson Tennis Week for a second time, I was struck by how fresh, energetic, helpful, and fun the experience was. Of all the tennis camps and lessons I have known, this is the best. The instruction is first-rate. Roy does not just give his name to the operation; he is the lead instructor and is in the midst of everything that goes on.The other instructors extend themselves as well.I enjoyed getting to know them on and off the court.
The Gstaad Palace Hotel has comfortable rooms, fine food, excellent service, and a stunning setting. Where else can up toss up a ball to serve and see snow capped mountains? Roy told me I should be looking at the ball not the mountains. Roy and Joy work hard to make the week memorable for everyone. The mountain picnic and the dinners are full of stories, laughter, and new friendships. I hope I can attend again and look at the ball rather than the mountains when I'm serving."

  • 5-Ball Rating "The week at Roy Emerson's in Gstaad is exquisite. The mountain setting is absolutely out of this world. The Palace Hotel is an incredible institution (fully renovated spa). And the environment and tennis instruction is perfect. Roy provides personalized instruction for everyone, and the team of pros is not only very congenial, there are lots of great players -- to cite in particular his son Antony. On top of that, they kit you out with a nice set of goodies."—M.D., Adv., September 2009

  • 5-Ball Rating "My 2008 summer trip to Roy Emerson Tennis Weeks in Gstaad was my second at this fabulous destination... treated like royalty in every respect. The Palace Hotel is premier; the rooms are gorgeous, the views to die for, and the food is unsurpassed. But even more incredible is spending hours on the tennis courts with Roy and his world class pros, receiving personal attention at every turn. Regardless of whether you are fairly new to the game or have been at it for decades, you will learn more in one week with Roy than you would in years at your own club. I hope I can return again and again. Roy and his family are so inclusive and make you feel welcome in the warmest way."—B.M., Low Int., January 2009
  • 5-Ball Rating "High quality coaching staff and wonderful scenery lead by a tennis legend. What more could a tennis player want. This is an outstanding camp with plenty of coaching each day for all ages and standards. I enjoyed it that much that I was eager to get on court each day despite my aching 61 year old limbs.
spaceThe accommodation and staff at the Gstaad Palace hotel show why Switzerland has such a good reputation for luxury hotels. The accommodation and food was sumptuous and the staff helpful and friendly. For example, although the building is not fully adapted to the needs of my wife's wheel chair the staff were extremely helpful, even removing a door from its hinges to help us get better access.
spaceI wholeheartedly recommend Roy Emmerson tennis weeks."
