Barton Creek Resort dates to 1987, but has since become part of the Omni family and under them relaunched in May 2019 following a $150 million expansion and renovation. Among the changes was the addition of a new tower of rooms, bringing the total to 493, a Mokara Spa with a rooftop deck, four swimming pools, seven restaurants, a complex of 11 brand-new hard courts, the last located at the adjacent country club and its golf courses. All of this is just 10 miles from the center of Austin.

Golf Courses. The Omni Barton Creek's four golf courses fan out into the Texas Hill Country, a varied landscape of cliffs, creeks, waterfalls, plateaus, lakes, red oaks, and sycamores. Tom Fazio designed two of the courses—his Canyons course is an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary—while Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore collaborated on a third and Arnold Palmer took a hilltop setting above a lake 25 miles to the west and laid out long, scenic fairways to delight big hitters.

The fitness center, which is complimentary, spaciously accommodates a full range of exercise equipment and paraphernalia while offering TRX, Pilates, yoga, and stretch classes along with personal training. There's also an indoor lap pool
