The Camelback Inn was Scottsdale's first luxury resort. This collection of adobe casitas, all with outside entrances and recently refurbished, has panoramic views of Camelback Mountain. It originally attracted the likes of Jimmy Stewart, Bette Davis, and Clark Gable who came to explore the Sonoran Desert, horseback ride, and escape. Today it still lures a celebrated crowd though the attraction is the 31,000-square-foot spa and 36 holes of parkland golf. Tennis players can look forward to 6 hard courts and a variety of exercise and stretching classes.
