  • 4-Ball Rating "Adult tennis camp is a superb way to take your game to the next level. This camp is not about the social tennis scene. The camp focuses on creating an atmosphere together you out of your comfort one so you can learn something new."—R.M., Int., August 2019
  • 3½-Ball Rating "Should have sent me this review request a long time ago when everything was fresh in my mind- the Coaches all went above and beyond and were super dedicated to making sure the participants were happy. The facilities seemed very dated (& animals in the swimming pool), the food was mediocre and we thought there would be lots of other tennis players and there were only four others there during our entire stay. What made our disappointment disappear was the dedication of our 3 coaches - James, Roger and Jonathan- and two unexpected coaching cameos from the man himself, Nick Bolletieri!"—D.F., Int., July 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "Fantastic experience at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy! The coaching was top notch and adapted to any skill level without missing a beat. • 1½-Ball Rating "I have done the adult tennis camp at IMG twice before and had a good experience. Not this year when l tried to register for a third experience. No one answered the phone or my email when l contacted IMG in advance to register for the adult tennis camp. So, as l was subsequently in the area, l drove up to the gate to see if l could speak to a registration agent in person. The security guard at the east gate responded by giving me a lecture that it was a private property and no on who was just anyone could enter. When l told him that l knew that but had not been able to get through on the phone, he tried calling an agent and then actually dismissed me away from the grounds saying he tried calling from the gatehouse but couldn’t get through to an agent either. So l just drove away and never played. I don’t know why he couldn’t have authorized me to at least enter the reception office to wait until an agent was available but he just wouldn’t do it. He might be ok at security but he needs to work on his customer service. In any event, l doubt l will ever go back after that kind of treatment."—J.B., Adv. Int., April 2019
  • 4½-Ball Rating "I attended IMG for the first time in 1997. It has improved tremendously. Head of the adult program was excellent and his team of coaches were awesome. The program, the drills and the competitive drills were very useful for my game. I won the Club Championship in Mixed 4.0 doubles and Mens 4.0 doubles soon after the tennis camp. I received a video with tips to improve my game. I used the Spa and it was great. My back was hurting a bit and I went to see the trainer who provided a therapist to help me and coach me on how to deal with lower back pain by teaching strenching exercises. Overall it was an excellent and rewarding experience."—O.F., Adv. Int., April 2019

Another wonderful thing is how personable and friendly the pros were. I really felt like I was challenged and pushed to my limit."—S.., Adv. Int., April 2019
  • 4-Ball Rating "Strengths: Intensive tennis instruction, point play among player, knowledgeable and friendly staff Weakness: Lack of instruction on constructing points for singles and doubles. There should be more of this. Not as much coaching during drill sessions. You could hit 30 balls before an instructor would correct you."—J.S., Adv. Int., April 2019
  • 3-Ball Rating "You will hit a lot of tennis balls. The instruction is fast paced but somewhat robotic. I've attended this academy twice before and those experiences were much better. There were more pros on court in past sessions offering detailed instruction. Better over all instruction and organization in the past compared to the most recent visit. I got a sense that the adult program was in decline. The pro shop was a long walk from the tennis facility and offered very little in the way of tennis apparel or equipment. In addition they had only one stringer on site and he was unable to restring my racquet during my 3 day stay. I had to go off site to have my strings (which popped on day 1) replaced. The private instruction I had with James was excellent. His instruction and watching tour pros train on nearby courts were the best take aways from my few days at the academy."—A.T., Adv. Int., April 2019
  • 4-Ball Rating "If you're looking for an intensive camp - this is the place to go. The group lessons are well planned and the ratio of student to coach is great. The coaches are very good and professional. They treat all players seriously and are the instruction is very helpful. During group lessons there are some drills but also live ball and point play practice. The only downside is that there are very few indoor courts and thus when it rains the program is shortened, and there is NO compensation for this. While the coaches try to adjust to the weather as best as they can, and obviously there is no control over the weather I do believe that the consequences should be split between the academy and the participants. As it is right now, it is only the participants that lose when it rains... Overall, this is a great camp and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for intensive instruction."—J.B., Int., March 2019
  • 4-Ball Rating "I did a full day adult tennis clinic. It was great, fast moving and fun. The coach’s were diligent about keeping people with others at their level. In between the morning and afternoon sesssion there was a half hour mini class. This was an informal talk on mental toughness. There was still plenty of time to have lunch and walk back across campus."—L.H., Adv. Int., February 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "I had an excellent time at IMG. I did a week of the Adult Tennis Program and got a few private lessons. The coaches are the best, each one in a different way and the program is also very diversified. The place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is very nice. It has exceeded my expectations. I thank you and hope to come back for another week soon."—A.M., Low Int., February 2019
  • 5-Ball Rating "Great experience!!!!"—Y.V., Adv., February 2019
  • 3-Ball Rating "Solid tennis instruction. Potential opportunity to get a group lesson with Nick Bolletierri himself, which is awesome : Nick is the best teaching pro I have ever experienced. Dissects one's game quickly and concisely, and provides a couple- not a million-- tips. Roger the head coach is entertaining and reinforces what Nick says. This is really about the tennis. Clubhouse is okay- being replaced by new hotel. Not a real resort setting. Fun to see the juniors in the Academy play. Drawback: if you don't bring fellow players with you, it's hard to match the group with your level unless you get lucky. I am near a 5.0 player and there were none at that level, but I was able to hit with one of the young pros for part of my time, which was worthwhile."—C.G., Adv., November 2018

  • 3½-Ball Rating "I spent 3 days at the Academy earlier this year. Traveling alone, it was not about the setting, the lodging and/or the cuisine. It was all about tennis. My tennis goals were met. As a 4.5 USTA-rated player, my goal was to improve my technique without reinventing my game. The instructors were able to break down the technique of each of my shots, explaining the good and the bad, and recommending relatively simple things I could improve . For the first time ever, I felt like "I got it"."—B.D., Adv., November 2018

The drills were fun and useful. I feel I improved a lot over the week. Weaknesses would be simply that at the time of year I went it was rainy in Florida but nothing they could do to control that."—K.G., Int., August 2018
  • 5-Ball Rating "Hand-on-heart, I couldn’t have asked for a more fulfilling tennis camp experience!! At the IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis Program I combined private lessons with group clinics and stayed at one of the facility’s well-appointed efficiency suites. James Bryce and his Adult Tennis Program colleagues (Roger Blackburn and Jonathan Osuigwe) were simply outstanding! They were always as punctual as Swiss chronometers and combined tennis prowess and in-depth knowledge of effective coaching methods and patience with rib-tickling humor, anecdotes and total commitment. They were even available for private lessons at the crack of dawn and frequently went beyond the allotted time in order to ensure the rudiments of particular skills had been fully taken on board. The inclusion of talks by experts in nutrition/optimal hydration techniques and effective doubles play as part of the tennis clinics was extremely useful. Without the slightest compunction, I will encourage my friends and tennis enthusiasts of all levels interested in improving their game to participate in this program. I will certainly be going back there as soon as possible and would also like to acknowledge Stephanie Altman, the Camp Outreach Advisor, who efficiently coordinated my eleventh-hour participation in the program."—V.A., Adv. • 5-Ball Rating "I am a novice tennis player, just getting into since playing as a kid over the last yr & 1/2. I had heard of Nick Bollettieri’s tennis academy when I was young & had kept up with the development of IMG. I have 5 children & we decided to attend IMG for a week in June, 2018. The IMG Academy was an excellent choice for us because everyone was able to attend for their individual sports: We enrolled my children in Track/XC, lax, baseball & tennis; while my husband enjoyed the adult fitness & health program & I attended adult tennis. It was a marvelous week! The coaches were beyond kind. They made sure they got to know every adult attending. They did a fabulous job of evaluating everyone’s skill level & separating everyone accordingly. I was frustrated with certain strokes (my serve) I did not feel I was able to improve on properly, & the coaches took the extra time to continue working with me into the lunch break, until I felt satisfied with my performance. The knowledge I gained through camp... from the speakers talking to us about all aspects of the game, to the little “phrases” etc... to help remember proper form or footwork have helped improve my game monumentally. My only complaint would be that, while my children were boarding at IMG for the week, my husband & I stayed some place else. While the camp check-in for my kids went flawlessly with plenty of guidance & instruction. I can not say the same for my husband’s & my first morning of camp. Exactly which camp entrance & exactly where once inside the security gate we were expected to be was not totally clear. After asking a couple people for assistance, we were directed where to go for our check-in & I made it to the court to begin camp in plenty of time. We have already begun booking another trip for everyone to attend camp over the Christmas holidays. My husband was so impressed with what he saw during my time at tennis, that even as basically a beginner, he plans on attending the Adult tennis camp this trip as well."—J.G., Int., July 2018

Instructors went out of their way to make you feel welcome each day. Lunch was always exceptional especially the soups. This was my first tennis camp and it was a good experience however, I probably will not enroll here again unless the price is right. Weakness: This campus obviously caters to junior sports. As an adult customer I felt the courts and activities were an afterthought from the rest of the campus. Guards at the front gate do not know which gate tennis activities are located. I went to 2 different gates two different times and was given different answers where I should report first day of class. For a renowned resort I was expecting the class to receive a tour of the facility on the first day or any day. I had to ask an instructor for a tour of the property on the last day of class. The registration process was overall good however once on property if you have a question that they cannot answer right away they do not email or call you back."—M.D., Low Int., December 2017

  • 5-Ball Rating "Get ready for tennis, lots of tennis. A week at IMG/Bollettieri tennis is 5 days, 5+ hours per day of drills, detailed instruction, directed warm-ups and physical training, stroke specific work, tactics and mental training. Every half day (morning or afternoon) has a theme (ground strokes, overhead, volleys, etc.) and includes specific drill plus live ball (points) and fun games (either a match or doubles with the pros or a match against one of the students - if you do that, prepare to get your ego busted). The instruction is terrific and the pros do a great job of working to your level, both skill set and physical conditioning. They are personable, friendly and just a blast to hang out with. The location itself is a little imposing, being a private school and behind a gate but the adult clinics are still easily accessed. I've been to this place more than 10 times and I always feel like a valued guest and I've made many friends, both players like me looking to improve or the pros themselves. It's a lot of work but it's a lot of fun and I do feel like I get a lot out of it and improve. You will only get out of this what you put in, be prepared to work hard and you won't be disappointed. If you want somebody to bring you fru-fru drinks after hitting a few, this ain't the place. At the end of the day, I have to lean on my racquet to make it to my car. That's what I call a great camp and that's what you'll find at IMG/Bollettieri's."—J.D., Int., May 2017
  • 5-Ball Rating "A true game changing experience for any adult looking to improve thier tennis regardless of their experience level. The tennis coaches, Jimmy Royalty, Roger Blackburn and Jonathan Osuigwe are enthusiastic, professional, knowledgable and caring teachers. The training is intense, exciting and fun. Your strokes will be transformed using tried and true teaching philosophies and practices of world renown Nick Bollettieri. You are surrounded by up and coming world ranked juniors and top professional players who are being trained by IMG tennis coaches.I had the distinct pleasure of training on the adjacent court to Kei Nishikoru while he prepared for Madrid Open in May 2017. The environment at IMG is electrifying. I shared the courts with outstanding players from France, Russia and many parts of the United States. It is a tennis experience unlike any other I have experienced. I strongly recommend a tennis player who is serious about upping their game to pick IMG above any other training academy or resort. Thank you Jimmy, Roger and Jonathan for your constant encouragement and strong desire to help me become a better player. I will never forget these outstanding coaches and am eternally grateful to them. To quote Roger Blackburn, "Fire it up!""—K.R., Adv. Int., May 2017
  • 4½-Ball Rating "Strengths - time spent with instructor, the motivation they provide while drilling, small technique changes that make big impact, friendly and genuine interest in players; grouped players well accordingly to ability Weaknesses - very long stretching periods"—S.D., Adv. • 4½-Ball Rating "This camp was EXACTLY what I was looking for. There are many camps out there for tennis fans; I've been to a handful. What makes IMG a standout is the intensity of its training. Most adult camps are focused on the social aspect of tennis but I've not been to any that focus on really improving your game. This is a camp for enthusiasts who want to become stronger players. If a Spa weekend / getaway is what you are looking for ... this is not your jam. If you're an athlete and love tennis for the sport and the game, you will love this camp and the experience."—K.R., Int., May 2017

ALL of the instructors were excellent, and spent hours with me working on the fundamentals over the 3 day Game-Changer program. Kudos to Jose who taught the two private lessons, and after all that agreed to get up extra early on Sunday at 7:00am for an additional lesson. WOW! Thank you ALL for an unforgettable experience!"—M.W., Low Int., April 2017
  • 5-Ball Rating "Very nice installations, very prepared and professional Staff"—G.M., Int., April 2017
  • 3½-Ball Rating "Strengths: Great drills and excellent instruction as to reasons why certain shots do or do not work in specific instances. All instructors are highly skilled as teachers not just players. They push you to improve and work and not just complement you because you paid for the camp. Weaknesses: The players here tended to be beginner to low intermediate. That being said, the instructors feed a lot of the balls so its not like you are depending on another player to benefit. However, if you are a high 4.0 or above player, there will likely be little competition for you. Also, the adult camp facilities are looking a little old and all the instruction is on clay, which if you don't normally play on, it takes some getting used to."—A.P., Adv. Int., April 2017

  • 2½-Ball Rating "Great coaches. Greater training facility, they will patch you up like an NFL athlete I think 5 hours a day of drilling isn't the right formula though. It's not natural I think it didn't help my game nearly as much as 60 minutes of a private a day would. The quality of instructor was high. They were engaging and great teachers I think they should incorporate more private or smaller group drill and Or instructed match play. It's hard to keep your rhythm hitting two shots then waiting in line. 4-5 people in a drill is too much. All of the facilities for housing need an upgrade. I stayed at the Lodge and it was not great. I think it will be hard to compete with nice resorts when it's adults only making the choice. Like most adults there, I was going because I had a child in the camp."—C.O., Adv. Int., April 2017

There were many seasoned higher level players in my group, but the staff made me feel more confident that I could play in the same group. At the end of the three days I felt much better about my game. The downside of the academy was the facility. Booking the program was difficult, I received no information before I arrived in spite of three phone calls to my coordinator and the facility. Before I left I signed up for some private lessons and the front desk could not renew my security pass so it took me an extra half hour to get into my lessons. The food in the cafe for lunch that was included was too salty and not what I would consider a healthy meal. I brought lunch with me after the first day. I would go back just for the coaching staff."—L.V., Low Int., April 2017

The program is intense, with the best coaches we have ever had - just what we were looking for. They were very good about customizing instruction in the adult program to account for injuries and left handed players. And maybe most importantly, they made it really fun. I couldn't recommend the tennis program more highly. The on-site lodging, while convenient, is very costly for what it is (basic, with a motel-like feel). The bedding (particularly pillows and sheets) could use an upgrade in quality. There were also a fair number of hiccups in terms of key cards not working, toilets and televisions not working, basic things missing from the kitchen (no pans or spatulas), etc., but the problems were all addressed quickly. The pool and jacuzzi though were lovely."—C.D., Adv. Int., April 2017

Levels of participants in the adult programs can be mixed but the pros always make sure you are challenged, will even play you against one of their instructors for the match play component if that's your level. Great video analysis. Fantastic kids' tennis program - my kids did a week in the junior program at the same time which turned out to be a great experience for them. The accommodations are just ok and the food on site is simple but good, also while there are great fitness facilities my wife would have loved to be able to go to a yoga class but not offered. So this place is really all about the tennis and definitely got me and the kids hitting better, moving faster. Will definitely repeat, especially since the kids are asking to go back."—J.J., Adv. They encouraged me during my work on a new grip, made many helpful tweaks to my thinking, and were consistent in emphasizing and rewarding adherence to the "Bollettieri system", which is both technical swing approaches and play strategies for high % shots by adult club players. The participants were generally very athletic, 3.5 players and above. Some players were there to win every game, while others were there for deliberate practice on a weakness. Most were friendly professionals on holiday, but some were training for upcoming tournaments. The emphasis is on doubles play, although singles were readily arranged on request."—L.N., Int., January 2017

They are smart enough to know that they can't teach an old dog new tricks, but they can make some minor adjustments so I could see some changes. I finally learned how to hit a drop shot and got to work on it! I would have liked to have hit more balls and done some drills that had a little more intensity and got my heart rate up higher (while hitting). I was here a few years ago and it seemed as if some of the drills were more aerobic. This time the only time I really got my heart rate up was during the warmup from 8-8:30. I personally would like to be worked a little harder. Overall, the camp is a great value for the money. So much tennis and such great instructors."—H.G., Adv. Int., November 2016

The IMG positives: 5 hours/day, clay, 4:1 or smaller player:pro ratio, video session, great juniors to watch. IMG negatives: too small a program so I was placed with less skilled women entire week, some obvious tension between pros, an out of shape pro, not much personal instruction, no organization to put players together after the sessions."—A.M., Adv. • 5-Ball Rating "I've attended the IMG Adult Program many times before and it was always an amazing experience. The structure, coaches and drills are just outstanding. I've always improved a lot technically as well as tactically and I've always been challenged and pushed to my limit, but I've had a bunch of fun, too. I really don't want to miss any minute I spent there! It was worth every cent! At Labor Day Weekend I joined "The Singles Specialty Camp". It was just OUTSTANDING! I was supposed to play just 2 half-days and ended up playing 2.5 days. Doesn't that say everything? It was just amazing! It was a perfect mixture of intense drills, games and match play. You just learned everything you need to successfully play singles (technical and tactical) no matter what level you are. If you think your recovery position is always in the middle of the court, you'll be proved wrong. Thank you Jimmy for the great structure, demos, explanations and drills! You made it an unforgettable experience and brought my game to the next level! I can highly recommend the program in general and the Specialty Camps to everybody! Can't wait to find out, when the next Singles or Doubles Specialty Camp takes place! I'll definitely be part of it!"—W.S., Adv., September 2016
  • 5-Ball Rating "IMG Academy - HOW DARE YOU?... ...give me once of the best tennis experiences of my life! I'm an intermediate player that absolutely loves the game, but with a very hectic work & family schedule, I'm only able to play twice a week. With most of my focus on my kids, this year I decided I deserved to carve out some time to work on improving my game. After extensive research of tennis academies and programs throughout the Florida market, I scheduled a three-day program with IMG. This was the BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE! After check in, it was time to hit the courts. I was very warmly greeted by the staff (Jimmy, Roger, Jonathan & Carlos) and we were immediately briefed on the morning program. I was so impressed by the structure and thought that was put into the detailed drills & goals for not only each station, but each participant. Another very appealing aspect to this program was the personal attention that was given to each and every student. The instructor to student ratio never exceeded 4 to 1 which allowed each person in my group to drill effectively with the pro, while also allowing for individualized instruction and modifications to our own personal game. After the morning session, we broker for lunch and my program fees included a very tasty and relaxing lunch in the onsite café. The food was very healthy and gave me tons of needed energy for the afternoon session. Again, the PM program was structured the same, but included totally different strategies, drills and goals. Never did I feel bored or unchallenged. During one of our afternoon sessions, it was raining so we were able to hit inside the indoor courts...aka - The Bubble! This was a first for me and we didn't skip a beat in regards to drills and instruction. The IMG instructors are experts at evaluating and bringing out the best of your game....then finding ways to improve upon it. After booking my program, I was sent an email questionnaire asking me to describe my goals in the program. Clearly most of us know the strengths and weaknesses of our own game so this was easy for me. My goal was to improve my serve, backhand and volley. During my time at IMG, my forehand, backhand and serve was individually videoed and evaluated, in addition to my on-site instruction. I was then emailed a detailed video analysis with additional instruction and tweaks to improve my game. I’m so impressed by the professionalism, organization and structure of the program and the quality of the staff. I'd also like to give a special shout out to the instructors. Jimmy - you truly are the backbone of the adult program and an awesome leader. There was never a time at IMG I didn't feel special or received tough love and encouragement. Roger - you are one of nicest people I have ever met and the depth of knowledge and passion you have for the game was truly inspiring. Jonathan - I truly enjoyed playing singles with you and also learning about your daughter and family. You have a very kind heart and a great sense of humor. Last but not least, I want to thank Carlos for his awesome adjustment to my serve. I'm not sure where you found your genius, but you changed my game forever with some minor, but very significant adjustments. I'm serving the best I ever have in my life and my confident level is through the roof. While I could go on and on, I'd like to finish by saying the IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis Program will truly exceed your expectations. My advice is to come prepared to work your butt off, sweat non-stop, drill like you have never done so in your life and plan to be amazed at how your game will grow. I'm so pleased with my experience that I'm already planning another 3 or 5 day program later in the year during the holidays....and I can't wait. If you are on the fence about scheduling a program at IMG, I hope this review helps you understand my experience and my endorsement. The adult program exceeded my expectations and was a great value for the dollar. P.S. - Did I forget to mention that Mr. Nick Bollettieri himself was gracious enough to spend time with our group for about 30 minutes. Amazing....he told stories, answered questions, offered advice and instruction. Then he took the time for a photo with each student and the group. WOW!!!"—J.B., Int., August 2016

All the coaches are really knowledgeable and passionate and they hardly try to challenge you and to adjust to your goals and needs. You'll get a great mixture of drills, life balls and match play. I improved a lot here and I learned so much not only about tennis, but also for life. Every coach has his\her own style, but they have one big common goal: making you as good as possible while you're here! They also give you some advice what you should work on, when you're back home. If you have any questions or need some more individual advice, don't hesitate to ask them. They're all more than happy to help you. There's also the opportunity to take private lessons, if you want to work on something specific more intensively. A bonus is that the pros and top juniors train here a lot and you have the chance to watch them practicing. Having attended the IMG Adult Program for several times, I have to say that for me there’s no better program than this one and they still try to make it better and better. "This isn't the YMCA" one of the coaches said - and that's true. There's no better way to learn than to "feel" like a pro - full warm-up, 5 hours of tennis a day, and pure immersion at a beautiful campus where you can rub elbows with some of the best tennis players (juniors and pros if you're lucky) in the world. No wonder people keep going back over years. "Fire 'em up" and go!!!!"—K.M., Int., April 2016
  • 4-Ball Rating "I have participated twice in their weekly adult program and I intend on going back again. The coaches are all great - They remember returning participants and really make you feel part of the team. Depending on whose group you are put into that day, your drill can be quite different. Some do less ball feeding and focus more on doubles based hitting drills. Others almost only do endless ball feeding which is great, but can be a lethal challenge to your physical capacity under the Florida sun. So it's ideal to have them mix up the group and coaches, so you don't end up feeling like you signed up for a military camp. I have asked specifically for doubles strategies, but I'd say theres less explanation on strategies. It's more hit, hit, hit more and learn. I've stayed both on campus and off campus. All in all, the intensity is amazing and you will end up wanting to come back for more. Campus housing is very basic, no 5-star hotel. Huge downside is they don't come with washer and dryer. I paid a fortune on the laundry service. When I stayed off campus, I had a hard time finding a clean, decent showering/locker facility as a non-boarder. Considering both experiences, I prefer to stay on campus as it's the easiest option. The cafeteria food is great. The newer part of the campus is stunning. The older part by the tennis courts can use some updating. That being all said, I wouldn't consider taking this long travel to any other tennis academy other than IMG. You will get what you pay for!"—Y.T., Int., April 2016

  • 2½-Ball Rating "My wife and I have just had a very disapointing trip to IMG academy. We arrived to poor instructions as to where to go in the morning for classes, our room was tired and old looking and had a broken toilet and light and an ancient TV. My wives APD program was cancelled at the last moment after we had booked our flights and no alternative program was offered. My assessment is that IMG is resting on its laurels. It neglects it's individual guest and spends to much time concentrating on corporate programmes. If you are looking for purely hard tennis coaching they are great, if you want a pleasant vacation, with good food and accommodation this is not the place to go. Saying that the tennis coaching was excellent. The coaches really know there stuff and convey what to do. There is an emphasis on fitness and you can be pushed hard physically. I would say as a Brit the constant reminder that IMG is the best place to play tennis can get tedious. Best to prove it to me than tell me about what went before. We got to meet the legendary Nick Bollettieri who once he pushed his sunglasses, clothing and racket sponsors, showed us his book and tennis teaching aid finally gave us some wise words of wisdom. A remarkable man. The lunch buffet offered with the course was pretty indifferent and there seemed few alternatives nearby. If you have any extra energy the fitness centre available to the tennis course is relatively basicl and a bit tired. I am sure there are amazing gyms elsewhere in the huge complex but not readily available to the tennis program. On the last day the accommodation staff aggressively hounded us out of our room even though I need a few minutes to pack before the afternoon session. Not a nice feeling. I complained to IMG about cancelling my wive's course, the accommodation etc. 2 weeks later I got to talk with someone. They admitted my expereince was un acceptable and they do have a problem with admin and service. They them said they would give me a refund. A week later I have not had an email or a call for forforfillingfilling their promise. It was the same with them promises, promises but then nothing was done. There is something seriously broken with their administration. Shame as the tennis program is pretty good."—M.K., Int., March 2016

  • 5-Ball Rating "I attended the amazing adult tennis camp at IMG December 30-January 3, 2016. The instructors saw to it that the intensive program addressed both the areas of my game that I had flagged in advance, as well as several others that will greatly benefit my improvement over time. Splitting the large group of adults into much smaller groups was smart because it helped maximize the amount of individual instruction. The time carved out for stretching and fitness helped me feel like my physical wellness was in good care. I also had sessions with a mental coach and a nutritionist, which were all well worth it. Since I was a young boy playing tennis I had always wanted to come to the Bollettieri academy, so to be able to still do that as an adult was a dream come true. What really stood out was that the staff seemed to truly cared about each and every one of us and our success. That created an atmosphere of belonging and family, while their constant encouragement helped me feel more confident in letting out my eye of the tiger! • 5-Ball Rating "Attending the IMG Adult Tennis Camp for 3 days has significantly improved my game in such a short time. The coaches (Jimmy, Roger, Jonathan, Tom, and Carlos) motivated, challenged, encouraged, and inspired me to play my best. I really liked the structure of demo, drills, strategy, and match play. Each session the coaches split you into small groups, which allows for plenty of individualized attention. I was able to immediately put new skills into practice in a match-like setting with the encouragement of coaches nearby to fine-tune. Bring a notebook, so you can write down everything you learned at the end of the day. I have pages and pages of notes from my 3-day visit. The coaches explain everything in digestible and memorable sound-bytes that help you remember their tips. I also highly recommend taking advantage of the available classes - mental conditioning, nutrition, and vision. The mental conditioning class therapeutic. DJ listened to the mental blocks I sometimes face during matches, and gave me individual recommendations to help. I have implemented what they suggested and it's really been a game changer. The nutrition classes are great way to optimize your nutrition by incorporating small changes to your lifestyle. The campus, lodging and clubhouse were also impressive. I took the trams to tour the campus and it's massive. Make sure you bring a bathing suit for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub is really nice after a 5-hour day of tennis. I had so much fun meeting tennis players of all skills from all over the globe -- Toronto, Russia, Germany, and the U.S. I scheduled a league match the weekend after I returned from camp to put my skills to work. The techniques and strategies IMG taught me turned me into a much smarter, competitive player. All returning players are recognized and remembered by the coaches. And one can almost be sure that one they spend a week at the camp, they will return for more. I was a junior player and spent a total of 8 weeks there. This last visit was the first time I participated in the adult program. The coaches were all very personable and seemed to truly want to help us all improve our strokes and our game. All of the drills were so helpful to me. The weaknesses were on the administrative end. From the beginning it was difficult to make reservations and to get billing information. Costs for tennis and costs for accommodations. The price changed each time our person called. As of today I was billed incorrectly by $327.81 and I am waiting for a credit to my credit card. IMG is a world-class training facility which any serious tennis player will love. The coaches are excellent! They challenged me and they made the experience fun. Thank you Jimmy, Jonathan and especially Roger for making me feel at home and pushing me so hard! Fire it up! The clay was beautiful, the Gatorade was cold, and the warm up was well organized and thorough. The program is professionally run and well structured. Seeing myself on video was extremely helpful as well. I made improvements in my game and the conditioning work I did at home really paid off! I was able to meet Nick, who was kind enough to invite my friend and I in to watch part of a lesson. Afterwards, he took the time to meet us and pose for pictures. He was so nice, full of energy, and very inspiring! If you enroll in the full day camp, be sure to bring a second outfit, you will need it! The program will definitely challenge your stamina – make sure you are in shape before you come. The food was great. All healthy and light options which were perfect to fuel us up for the afternoon. Everyone I encountered on campus was helpful and professional. The Sarasota area is wonderful, you will be close enough to several beaches to enjoy them fully after tennis. It was one of the best experiences, and I highly recommend the program to tennis aficionados of all ages and levels. You will get your butt kicked, but in a good way. I have been to another highly renowned tennis camp in the vicinity a couple of times before, but found IMG Bollettieri's program to be superior - there was consistency across the coaches (thank you, Jimmy, Roger, Rachel, and Enrique), who were amazing and genuinely cared to help improve my game. They also provided a lot of personalized attention and will take into consideration what the camper is seeking to achieve/improve. Also, while this may be a matter of personal preference, I sought to focus more on improving my technique via instruction and drilling as opposed to spending a lot of time playing doubles or strategizing match plays. Separately, I also recommend booking a sports massage at the IMG Wellness Spa - because they are used to treating athletes, they know exactly what they are doing to help you recover from muscle soreness. My son was attending a week long tennis session so I decided to join him by attending the adult tennis camp. We had the privilege of taking a group lesson with the father of modern tennis Nick Bolettieri. I was skeptical about his methods, but the man fully deserves is reputation as a tennis legend. One by one he noticed everyone's faults and offered simple changes to the correct the problem. Jimmy Royalty and Roger Blackburn of the adult tennis program provided a grueling yet insight instruction on playing tennis. During my session I improved immensely and hope to go back in the future. Juan Herrera the head of the junior camps was equally as positive and insightful. The staff provided positive critiques of the juniors. They kept them focussed and disciplined. They group the kids based on ability. They had some of the full time kids play with the stronger players. This is without a doubt the premier place for junior tennis in America and possibly the world. The accommodations are three and half star. It was the perfect 5-day getaway to just hit balls and escape the winter in Canada. The instructors Jimmy, Roger and Enrique really helped my game. They were spot on with feedback and were really encouraging over the 5 days. The 6+ hours of hitting a day gives you enough time to work on a goal over and over again - I decided on the first day I needed to stay on the ground and I think I achieved that. I even had a group lesson with Mr. Bollettieri himself, and it was probably the best group lesson of my life - and it came with a video. Yes, it's expensive, but definitely an experience to remember. I like to sweat and have a good workout and had mentioned my concern to the pros but to no avail. • 5-Ball Rating "If you want to improve your tennis game, I can't imagine there is a better place than the IMG Academy/Bollettieri Tennis. I have just returned from a 3-day camp, and the improvements in my game are beyond my expectations. First, the instructors were all world-class (Jimmy, Roger, Enrique in particular). They were not only true professionals, but very friendly and made sure we all had a good time beyond the instruction. Second, they didn't pound us with information. I think that with some tennis instruction, pros will give you too much to think about, and you wind up leaving more frustrated and dejected. Here, they gave just the right amount of tips/instruction along with the repetition. Third, this was all about tennis, which is exactly what I wanted. This camp isn't for the person who just wants to sit around and hear about tennis. You get out of it what you put into it, and the more you work, the better you get. Finally, the camp is the right mix of instruction, drills, playing. I also really enjoyed getting to know the other people in the camp. A real treat was meeting Nick Bollettieri himself. When I looked up during a match and saw him watching me play, I promptly double faulted! He was a class act, as you might expect. I will be back to the IMG Academy soon, and if someone else can find a better place to improve their game, I'll find it very hard to believe. Thanks for a great camp, Jimmy, Roger, and Enrique! The staff was friendly, engaging and quick to discern individual player weaknesses and areas for improvement, relaying corrections in a helpful and easily understood way. The drills conducted throughout the day were grueling, but confidence instilling. You knew more about your game at the end of the day, and you felt it. We loved the inimitable Roger, who 'fired it up' all day long, as well as the softspoken Enrique and the Island Mon Jonathon, all of whom assisted the chief catherder Jimmy Royalty, head of adult tennis. We have Vandermeer and Stan Smith's camps under our belts so far and while each has its merits and plusses, IMG/Bollettieri was the best yet. The instruction is amazing - I really improved in the short time I was there. Nick Bollettieri spoke with us, as did Brad Gilbert and Michael Chan. We also had a special clinic with the "serve doctor". The instructors work you HARD but are really positive. Rodger, Jimmy, Carlos and Ricky - thank you!!! You go for the tennis - not the accomodations or food (the accomodations are totally fine - clean and basic, the food could really be improved) - but as long as that is what you are looking for, I can't recommend the place more. There is a spa and I had a really great (desperately needed)sports massage. • 4½-Ball Rating "I am a former Division III college and 4.0 USTA league tennis player who was looking to get away from my work and daily life for a week. I have always wanted to travel alone and wanted to get back into tennis after stepping away from the game for 2 years, so I decided to combine the two.
After almost a year of researching the tennis resorts listed on this site over and over again before making a decision, I kept coming back to IMG. Nothing else even came close to fitting my criteria. I knew that I wanted to work hard and come out of the experience feeling good about myself and feeling as though I got my money's worth. There was no doubt that IMG was the only answer for me if I wanted to go on a TRUE tennis vacation. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredible. They are so friendly and great at reading people that I immediately felt at home because they understood who I was both as a player and a person. It was the best instruction I have ever received in over 20 years of playing. IMG's philosophy is to look at every player as an individual, and within the time frame they have you, they don't try to change your game like most pros do, but they try to enhance your game using the tools you already have. This is a much more effective strategy. I truly believe that as adult players, we already are who we are and can only make improvements to the game we've already developed. I left IMG after 6 days of playing feeling more confident in who I am as a player with a ton of new skills.
I would recommend this program for players of all levels. If you are serious about wanting to improve your game and want to have fun doing it, believe me -- you absolutely do not want to spend your money going anywhere else. Most places try to tire you out to make you feel like you got a good work out, but the staff at IMG takes your investment as seriously as you do and truly respects the time you are taking to be there with them. It was worth every penny to me."

  • 5-Ball Rating "I just finished a three day adult program at IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis - it was fantastic! This program was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The coaching is exceptional, the staff is extremely nice and genuinely cares about your performance and improvement. I have not been to other tennis resorts, but i don't need to look further. I am definitely going back again. MG"—M.P., Int., March 2014
  • 5-Ball Rating "If you like tennis you will love IMG. Coach Roger gets you fired up!!!!"—T.W., Adv., March 2014
  • 4-Ball Rating "great teaching, specially if you get the chance to have Nick Bollettieri give you some time. The staff of the Adult Tennis program were excellent, Roger, a lifer, Rick, and Jimmy Royalty, who was the head of the program, did an amazing job to connect, integrate and coach personally. I would highly recommend the IMG/Bollettieri Tennis Academy. Only one drawback....the food could be optimized. Easy location to fly in and out of, and a huge campus to take part in other sports like Golf too. Go, play and become a better player!!!"—A.F., Adv. Int., March 2014
  • 4-Ball Rating "If you want to work on your tennis game, this is the place to go. A tennis boot camp. Great instruction. Personalized attention. I go about once a year to work on my game and it's well worth it. Always a great tennis experience!"—R.B., Adv., March 2014
  • 3½-Ball Rating "Focus is on intense, punctual, lively and fun practice. Facility also provides great opportunity to watch very skilled junior players practice. Healthful meals. Players attending should have main goal of improving their tennis skills since it is not a resort setting and rooms are small."—S.B., Int., March 2014
  • 4½-Ball Rating "Fantastic experience a definite must for a tennis player of any level. There are no bad things everything is outstanding"—S.S., Adv. Int., March 2014
  • 5-Ball Rating "Great week! Roger and Jimmy are very smart, knowledgeable, and perceptive. Very helpful demonstrations, then drills to work on what was demonstrated. Matches, everyone was videoed, met very nice people who were there from all over the world. My sons and I had a 2-bedroom suite, which was very nice: lv rm, dining table, full kitchen and breakfast area, plus 2 very nice bedrooms and 2 baths. Right next to pool and well-earned hot tub."—C.S., Adv. Int., March 2014
  • 5-Ball Rating "Did a three day session in February. Terrific! Great instruction, hit thousands of balls, got a great workout and came home with a much improved game and game attitude. A big shout out to Jimmy (Director ), Roger and Martin!"—P.B., Adv., March 2014

  • 5-Ball Rating "AMAZING! I just finished 3 days at an IMG Adult Tennis Camp which included a surprise visit and group lesson by Nick Bollettieiri. The facility is fantastic and the coaching staff is both professional and skilled. I initially thought my game would be changed and was nervous the camp would do more harm than good - NOT SO! The tennis pros made minor corrections which only improved my game. In 3 days, I perfected my fundamentals and technique, serve and return skills, mental and physical conditioning, my net play and strategy which was my favorite part of the camp. The tennis pros know exactly how far to push you out of your comfort zone without breaking you - this is good for those of us who are older. I would recommend this camp for anyone, especially as a team outing. This is my 2nd time attending and both times I left having met wonderful people from all over the world as well as feeling like I improved my game!"—P.R., Adv. Int., March 2014
  • 4½-Ball Rating "This is the place to go for unparalleled tennis instruction and atmosphere. My wife and I attended adult tennis camp. Our experience included stretching, drills, demonstrations, video analysis and instruction. Our instructors, Jimmy, Roger, and Enrique were outstanding: knowledgeable, professional, motivating, and fun to be around. Our daughter attended junior camp at the same time. The accommodations food, and spa are all very nice, but the real reason to go to IMG is the world class instruction and the opportunity to train alongside the world's best athletes. Where else can you go to be on a court next to top tennis stars and the next generation of top players?"—C.S., Adv. Int., February 2014
  • 4-Ball Rating "I’ve gone to a couple of a number of tennis camps in California and I also to Saddlebook once, but I’ve been to Bollettieri 4 times now. That should say something right there.
I often refer to this place as Disneyland for fitness. Staff and students all seem supremely happy to be there and it definitely enhances the experience. Pretty much any major sport you can think of is represented here.
The tennis program itself is just phenomenal, but you really do need to be in well above average physical shape to endure the program. It’s great to meet players from all over the world, but typically it’s been South Americans mixed in with some Europeans and Japanese. What I like is that everyone is serious about tennis. It’s not that they are not social, it’s that the social aspect is not primary. They are there to learn, test their conditioning and skills, and improve. The instructors are mostly great. I’ve run across a few that are either too green or don’t offer as much instruction as I’d like. The courts are excellent and well maintained.
The food is above average but nothing to write home about. The massages I received there (Jared mostly, but also Jean-Pierre) were literally life-changing. I didn’t realize how great a massage could be. By great, I don’t mean relaxing and soothing because deep tissue massages are not super pleasant, but I felt so much better waking up the next day after a massage versus days I didn’t get one.
The grounds are so much fun to walk around. You can watch promising juniors play, as well as former and current pros. My last visit, I bumped into Kei Nishikori in the lobby and also saw him practice. A number of other pros were there as well and as long as you are respectful, no one really cares if you walk around and watch anyone. Last visit, I talked to one of the Vasek Pospisil’s trainers for about an hour. You may not have heard of him, but he’s on his way up!
I plan to keep going, at least on a yearly basis. My last visit was actually the best as they seem to be shaking up their program and rejuvenating it, even though it was already great. On all my visits, we had anywhere from a brief to a long visit with Nick, where we had a chance to get some input from him on our strokes. It was such a delight to spend time with one of my heroes.
If you want a serious tennis program that tests your limits, this is the only place to go. I’ve talked to many people over the years that have traveled great distances to get there and all of them seem more than satisfied they made the trip."

  • 4½-Ball Rating "meet real people, real coaches, real attention. YES more absolute NO less. example?; new group arrivés..Coach Roger calls us (11 new ones, 8 nationalitys) by name after 5 minutes, and man that feels good.
Lessons improved by 2014. Good warmingup, good demo's, good mental lessons, very good specials as Servedoctor, Food/nutrician advicer etc..
I attended courses for 20 day-parts, I'm a man and live in The Netherlands and my tennisage descended 10 years because this nice stay at IMG in Bradenton, and as it was my second time at the Academy my tennisage is now 38, and I love it.
It enriches you daily from 8am sharp till 3:30pm. I enjoyed all the drills, sometimes hard but thanks to the hard line and motivation and high fives I became 38."

  • 4½-Ball Rating "My 13 year old son and I were thrilled with our trip to IMG. Nick Bollettieri gave my son a lesson, and, combined with the top-of the line daily training in their junior tennis program, with Coaches Artem, Ryan, Soren and Juan, my son was really motivated to improve his game! For my Adult Tennis program, many kudos to Jimmy Royalty for his smooth operation. Everything, from our half hour warm up, to the stroke-specific drills, was flawless. If I could, I would move in to the Academy and become a permanent student! (And my son would adore being there, too!)"—D.L., Adv., February 2014
  • 3½-Ball Rating "very intense...really push you to be the best you can be....Instruction customized to the individual and your level. Great insights. Had a 3 day camp that really got be zoned in and focused on my weaknesses"—K.S., Int., February 2014
  • 4-Ball Rating "Great Boot Camp ....Certainly on my bucket List...Great Teachers ...great attitude ....exceptional Tennis facilities...Accommodations very good ...The food could be improved ( menu vs cafeteria style) Also a recommend a organized post tennis social with your team mates and a team picture etc ....There is quite a bond with the mates that go through the 3 or 5 day program...I did not like the idea of newcomers coming in half way or half day during our session..."—J.M., Adv. Int., February 2014
  • 5-Ball Rating "IMG is by far the most knowledgeable, attentive, and physically demanding tennis facility I have ever experienced. Direct, easy flight for a quick getaway. My husband attended the golf session while I was on the tennis courts by noon. We stayed just a few minutes away at the Ritz Carlton, however there are accommodations on site. Very individualized program which allowed private time each day to address specific issues and goals. Very positive educational experience!"—C.B., Int., February 2014

  • 5-Ball Rating "IMG Academy Bollettieri Adult Tennis Program was excellent. I was pleasantly greeted by the staff and I felt like I was at home. Jimmie, Roger and Beau gave me instructions and encouragement that made my visit memorable. I appreciate their honestly in evaluating my game. I was able to play at a steady pace and not feel like I was in boot camp. I would definitely recommend it to my friends who are 60 and older."—G.C., Adv. Int., February 2014
