This family-run camp dates to 1970 and became the property of the current owners and directors, the husband-and-wife team of Susan Reeder and Steve Proulx, in 1992. Both have extensive teaching and playing credentials, and the daily program on the 38-acre site mixes tennis on the six hard courts with conditioning, activity on a ropes course, archery, and other activities.

Here's what others have had to say about Carmel Valley Tennis Camp.

"Carmel Valley Tennis Camp combines hours of helpful tennis lessons with playing competitive matches. It really makes campers feel comfortable, especially because they keep you busy with tennis and fun activities in between. It is the ideal summer camp for the tennis player beginner or advanced. My daughter's experience at CVTC was fantastic. She has gone back for 3 years and this year will be her fourth. She loves this camp and I believe everyone will too."—O.W., Adv., April 2010

"Our son is a sectionally ranked junior player and has attended CVTC for three years. It is a great blend of intensive tennis (5+ hours a day) and a traditional summer camp with all the activities you associate with that. Our son has attended other intensive tennis programs in Florida, but keeps returning to CVTC because he loves it.
It is small (about 50 - 55 kids) which means they really get to know your child. The kids are grouped by ability for group lessons and play a multi-flighted individual tournment and team tournament over the course of two weeks.
Every year our son returns with better skills and greater confidence in his tennis and overall. All-in-all a great experience."—D.S., Adv., January 2009
