In fact, we extended our planned 2-days there by another day -- just because it was so nice! Our stay included two private tennis lessons, a Saturday morning tennis clinic and an afternoon at the Spa (for massage and skin care treatments). The tennis staff, including our teaching pro, was super professional. Everything was great. • "As a solo traveler and tennis enthusiast, I was pleasantly surprised at the racquets experience I had at the Biltmore. As if playing within a fabulous backdrop of the Bitmore grounds isn't enough, I found the tennis and pickle ball staff to be incredible on many levels. With brand new courts tucked away near the fitness center, I was able to combine my morning exercise routine with easy access to my favorite activity. The head pro Brendan was so accommodating to my last minute requests for lessons and inquiries for more social play. He brings all of the amazing things one would hope for in a PBI program but adds his own dynamic coaching style to meet the player's needs. His articulate feedback coupled with key recommendations helped me to easily understand a few small things to improve my game in an hour. Furthermore, his enthusiasm for keeping the racquets community energetic was outstanding. He makes hotel guests who want to play in social round robins or matches feel welcome and integrated with the regular racquets community there. I've never played pickle before and they welcomed me with wide arms in a round robin and helped me catch on very quickly. I loved it so much I booked a lesson or clinic each following day. I am still practicing his recommendations and the adjustments I've made have changed my game for sure. I had such a blast at pickle ball I came home with a new hobby on my list! • "Me, my wife, and our 11 year old son spent a week at the Biltmore. The best part of our vacation was, by far, the tennis pro, Brendan Easterling. As a collegiate tennis player, myself, who has trained our two oldest to also be collegiate tennis players, I was impressed with his technical and tactical skills. He is clearly a high-level tennis player. What made it the most memorable, though, was seeing how great a time our son had with him. We rearranged our entire vacation to make time for multiple private and group lessons for our son, because he enjoyed his first lesson so much. He couldn’t get enough time on the court with Brendan! They had so much fun together as Brendan incorporated high level challenges, and technical expertise into there lessons, especially the private sessions. He clearly loves tennis, and it comes through in his teaching. Even though our son trained with him every day, he didn’t want to leave, and couldn’t get enough time with him. It is the most fun we could have, as parents, seeing our son have so much fun and grow his game, at the same time! We will definitely be back to visit him again. The only thing that we weren’t fond of was the remodeling taking place. The pool area nearest our room was closed for construction, which was disappointing. Remember seeing 7 courts, all the same surface (that stuff they used to use at the Aussie open...felt good on the knees but really slowed the ball up). Took a lesson from Lon(the head pro), and in a little over an hour, he keyed in on two quirks, and gave me fixes. Excellent instruction.
  Match finding was non existent. clinics were on the weekend, thus didn't get to participate. had ball machines and other rentals on site. was no problem getting a court. if you like tennis and want a great place to stay, this is it, but if you want a full blown tennis resort...not so much."—B.H., Adv.
