La Terraza Tennis Center at Casa de Campo
Too many years have passed since I visited Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. The sprawling 7,000-acre resort encompasses nearly every sort of recreation you could want on a Caribbean vacation, including tennis at its lushly landscaped hilltop La Terraza Tennis Center. And yet despite having 13 immaculately maintained Har-Tru tennis courts, Casa de Campo had, to be honest, dropped off the Caribbean tennis radar.
It’s vying to get back on and to re-establish its place as one of the go-to destinations for avid tennis players. In order to get tennis vacationers to take another look, Casa de Campo is staging an exhibition and clinic with John McEnroe and Jim Courier this weekend (Nov. 7) and I’m invited down to see first-hand what the resort offers tennis players. I’ll be reporting about my experiences here over the next few days.
