"My best overall experience yet between the tennis, accomodations, amenities and food. Everything was first class. The tennis instruction received from Elad and Max was excellent. Highly recommended."—M.S., Int., January 2012

"Read all these great reviews & also word of mouth. Got to say I was quite disapointed! I several drill clinics pros ranging from (ivona = awful, Pablo= decent but started us 7minutes late, Gerald = good workout & Narelle = the best & not bad on the eyes for us men)..I asked about the Director Mike Leach (who I never saw during my 4 day trip & the member just rolled her eyes! She said he is never here or around.
Oh well.. I tried to get a match (I'm a 4.5 player) but said I can call &Bret to line up my own match?!! For what the room cost I would think they would be able to line me up 1 match! But I guess that is too much to ask! Also do not ask front desk anything! Especially Sharon! They are short, abrupt & mostly rude!
The hotel & rooms are gorgeous! The front desk at the Inn is very helpful unlike the tennis club. Safe to say I'll try saddlebrook next time!"—J.P., Adv. Int., August 2011

"My wife and I attended a five day "Leach on the Beach" camp. Great facility, great and personable instructors, well organized and lots of fun. Unsurpassed oceanfront rooms with great local food places. Only negative was not having a washer and dryey access as the camps are vigorous and you will have a lot of sweaty clothes."—D.M., Adv. Int., July 2011

"Strengths: resort right on the beach; excellent tennis and gym facilities; instructors make an effort to remember your name; drills are fun but challenging.
Weakness: would have preferred if drills were 90 minutes instead of 60; balls were well used; pro shop not well stocked."—B.A., Adv. Int., May 2011

"Strengths: Mike Leach never disappoints. Have been to tennis camp numerous times and the quality of teaching is always high. The health club is the nicest I've ever seen. The spa is also very nice. The entire setting is beautiful and very relaxing.
Weaknesses: None
The camps are mostly women with the majority from the Ponte Vedre club. Not like other camps where everyone is from out of town."—D.B., Int., March 2011

"I went with 3 friends of mine for a girls tennis 5 day trip. Great tennis matching. They included all of us in their round robins and the tennis drills with our pro was excellent. Loads of fun! We usually like to stay together in a 2 bedroom condo which was not possible at this resort. We had to split up into 2 separate rooms. Everyone in the spa was extremely friendly and very helpful. The exercise facility was great plus it faced the ocean which was beautiful."—S.W., Adv., March 2011

"Mike Leach and his talented, highly skilled teaching pros, offer top notch tennis instruction. Best quality of the dozen or more tennis resorts I have visited. Take a week of clinics and lessons with these gracious, pleasant, skilled teachers and your NTRP will rise because your skills will soar.
Facility is glove-clean, pro shop staff is very efficient and welcoming, courts are maintained in pristine condition. After a very heavy rain on a recent visit, the staff had the courts ready to go within two hours. There is plenty to do in this paradise, great restaurants abound. Incredible spa, beachfront area. This resort has the best of everything a tennis lover would want. "—T.K., Adv. Int., March 2011

"My wife and I (both 4.0s) just returned from a 4-day weekend at Ponte Vedra. We had a nice time, but we wouldn’t include it in our list of Top 5 tennis resorts, maybe Top 10. We averaged two drill clinics per day, with several different pros.
The most rigorous was with head pro Gerald, and was quite an aerobic workout because it was just the two of us. Most other clinics involved three to four persons. Each pro had a different emphasis, although several of the drills were repetitive from clinic to clinic.
When we arrived, we indicated that we were interested in playing in mixers and with other players. There was a member mixer on Friday night but we were not invited to participate. The Tennis Director, Mike Leach, did fix us up with one singles match and one mixed doubles match with other guests. Then we were handed a list of other members at our skill level and suggested that we call them to line up some tennis. This was in contrast to a place like La Quinta (CA) where the staff went out of their way to call members and line up matches for us, sometimes more than one per day. We called several folks on the list, but never got a call back.
Although advertised, there were no other mixers, men’s doubles, or women’s doubles activities going on while we were there that we were invited to join. But there was a lot of member league play going on, so much so that no courts were available in the mornings most days during the week, except for clinics. On the plus side, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hydrocourts there were well maintained and do not dry out during the day like spray irrigated Har-tru courts.
The accommodations at the resort were quite nice and rather reasonable (we stayed at the Island House). Food at the restaurants was very good and came in generous portions. Beach was OK but rough underfoot in many places. We tried to go to the spa on Sunday but it closed at 4 despite being advertised as open until 7. Altogether not a bad place for tennis guests although, if you’re going to be in the Jacksonville area, we recommend heading out to Amelia Island Plantation, also about 30 minutes away. On the other hand, Ponte Vedra would be a good club to belong to as a member."—E.A., Adv., October 2008

"We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and found it everything we'd hoped. The instruction was an excellent blend of helpful advice, good humor, advice on strokes strategy, etc. The mix of private and group lessons was just right. The accommodations were wonderful. We wanted to be spoiled for a few days and were--a special highlight was sumptuous breakfast served inour reoom by terrific waiters."—J.P., Low Int., April 2008

"I have not been back to Ponte Vedra in a few years but when I was there in late April I must say that I really enjoyed the tennis club and their excellent program. The facilities are very good and so are the pros."—H.F., Adv. Int., April 2008
