Kelly Jones, the former world's No. 1 doubles player on the ATP Tour, heads the program. During the summer the University's Furman Mickel tennis complex and its 19 outdoor and 4 indoor courts becomes the site of these long-running camps for juniors ages 9-17. Daily workouts run 5 to 6 hours per day with a low student:pro ratio. Every evening there's some sort of social activity, which could be movies, dances, skating parties, or miniature golf. Housing is in the college dorms, and all meals are served in the dining hall.
The campus itself covers 750 acres at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 5 miles north of Greenville. In addition to the courts, there is a 30-acre lake, golf course, Olympic-sized pool, gymnasium, all types of athletic fields, a library, and a student center with pool, ping-pong, and snacks.
