This long-established and well-regarded camp takes place on the campus of Amherst College in central Massachusetts, roughly 90 miles west of Boston and 165 miles north of New York City. Mike Gardner is back again, as he has been since the camp's inception in 1994, co-directing with Kevin Curley, head tennis professional at Orchard Hills Athletic Club in Lancaster, MA. Their camps average 80 campers per session using Amherst’s 22 hard courts, 6 Har-Tru courts and indoor tennis.
Campers stay in dorms (whose lounges have TV and WiFi) and dine in the student cafeteria and have used of the college’s game room, fitness center, and swimming pool. Off court activities include skit nights, pizza parties, and off-campus movies. The basic session runs Sunday noon-Friday 3 p.m., with pickups available at the bus station in Amherst or the Hartford/Bradley airport.
