"Nike Tennis camp in Amherst, MA is excellent. Great instruction and great instructors. It is well organized and they listen to feedback. Staying in the dorms is just okay (it's not a resort!) and the food on campus is not ideal, however, for breakfast and lunch it is fine. We tend to go out for dinner as there are many options in Amherst and it is very close to campus."—S.C., Int., February 2012

"Great adult tennis camp. Most instructors are very good and the person who runs it (Reiny) is excellent and has a great sense of humor. Would definitely recommend to friends (already brought 5 friends last season).
Areas for improvement are: 1) lodging - be sure to request to be in the 'new' dorms not the old ones, 2) no central a/c in the dorms, 3) food is typical college cafeteria stuff."—C.K., Adv., February 2012

"Strenghts: Instruction first and foremost. It is the best. Friendly. Love the Amherst campus and surronding area. Did I say great tennis. Comradery of the campers and staff.
Weakness: Food, but I came for the tennis. One can always go off campus for dinner."—D.H., Int., January 2012

"My first visit to an adult tennis camp and it was everything and more than I expected. Reiny had the exceptional ability of pinpointing the flaws in my stroke after hitting just four balls during my initial evaluation. His recommendations and the follow up by his excetpional staff, had me improve my shots after day one. I came away very pleased with my improvement after three days of intense instruction and drills.
The only thing I could complain about was the early dinner hour at the dining hall 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. I gave this program the highest grade (5) on my evaluation and look forward to signing up next year and bringing friends with me."—M.B., Adv. Int., July 2011

"I've tried almost all of the major camps in my long search for a camp for TENNIS, not for spas, not for fine food (that will just ruin my game anyway), not finding a mate. THIS IS IT for TENNIS! Reiny is great and keeps the camp on point and fun. He gets that we are gung ho and calms us when we realize we won't jump 2 USTA levels after a weekend of camp. After all the years he's coached all levels, he knows how to keep the weekend warrior as happy as the competitive USTA team member as the spouse who is allong to try to learn this year."—B.C., Adv., March 2011

"The pros are exceptional, the other campers are friendly and good players, the campus and town are perfect for after tennis activities. We have returned for 8 years because we always leave a little stronger, small corrections and re-focused. "—K.B., Int., March 2011

"The instruction is fabulous. Every year I leave with a new skill and better game! "—D.A., Adv. Int., March 2011

"I don't go for vacation, I go year after year because I know I will hit a lot of balls, paced just right, with solid instruction, good humor, and friendly co-campers. Housing is college dorm quality, and the food is good cafeteria fare. Reiny Maier is a fantastic teacher who loves his job. Try to schedule a private lesson with him while you are there! "—B.S., Int., March 2011

"I've been going to this camp for many years and it's something I look forward to year round. The directors are extrememly friendly and knowledgable. The nearby town of Amherst has pubs, art galleries, an art house cinema and everything you need is right there within a few minutes drive or walk. This camp has enriched my game and my life. "I've been going to this camp for the past ten years and I'll keep going back for as long as it goes on. I always attend the session that starts on the Thursday of the first week of Wimbledon and I leave on the Sunday when there are no matches scheduled at the Championships. What makes the camp special is the expertise and enthusiasm of its founders, Reiny and Maureen. They make learning tennis fun and they both have an uncanny ability to immediately see any flaws in your technique and are able to gently suggest what you might want to try to improve. They hire good people who teach energetically but patiently.
The accomodations are modest as you sleep in unairconditioned dorm rooms, but the dorm building is modern and clean, built just a few years ago. The food is better than what I expected from a university cafeteria, and there are good restaurants just a few minutes away in the charming town of Amherst. Be sure to check out the Amherst Brewery and Amherst's art house cinema. It's easy to meet new people and there are many who, like me, keep coming back every year."—E.D., Adv. Int., July 2010
