La Sella Tennis, a club with five red clay and three artificial grass courts, sits in the Spanish foothills roughly a 10-minute drive from the 
Mediterranean port of Denia and its medieval castle, restaurants, and beaches. There are several tennis options, including 1½- and 3-hour-a-day clinics, personally tailored programs, and, during holidays and summer, junior programs. And because this is a club, there are occasional tournaments and round robins as well.
Tennis aside, there is a restaurant at the club, access to nearby golf courses, a spa at the affiliated Marriott La Sella (which also has a fitness center for guests) in Denia, and horseback riding stables next door.

There are several lodging options. The closest accommodations are the self-catering Club apartments a few yards from the courts. There are also 3-bedroom villas a little farther away overlooking the golf course. Finally, there are two hotels in Denia: the Los Angeles Hotel Playa and the five-star Denia Marriott La Sella Resort & Spa.

"I have visited La Sella Sport three of the last four years. I love playing on their red clay courts! This year I took five 90-minute hitting lessons with head pros Diego and Kurt who are excellent players and teachers. Friendly receptionist Wendy booked my lessons and answered all my questions.
The club is located within a retirement / vacation community, and there are several lodging options nearby. The courts are surrounded by palm trees and tropical vegetation. A casual restaurant overlooks the three main courts, and a riding stable is located next door. A new building with pro shop and locker rooms is scheduled to open in 2010."—C.L., Adv., November 2009
