Here's what others have had to say about Jonathan Markson Oxford Adult Tennis Camp.
"Stay at home and go down the local council park where you will be able play for free and you may improve your game on your own. Here, you'll go home frustrated and "pxxxxx off"
If you want to see Oxford, then go to the camp. If you hope to improve your tennis it will be a gamble. You will be put in a group, and that group you'll stay with. Frustration grows at each stroke which does not get returned, the so called coaches, probably students doing a summer job won't notice standards to reach and be met.
It was my second visit to the Camp and within the first hour of my second trip I remembered what my first trip was like, hell! The groups were not matched, games un-even, rallies could only be had with the mints in your mouth while you wait at the back netting to be summond to try 2 shots then off.
Years went by, I tried it the second time and again, mismatched for the duration and on the final day tournament, you get a sudden jolt - you ain't been put your paces!
Never again, never. This time I'll remember. I left it to the coaches, they are supposed to be experienced and spot differences in standard, money down the drain. To tell the coaches I should be moved to a different group is not within me. I could have done a better job myself and I'm not a so called qualified coach!! They are are after one thing - your money.
Look instead at going with Nick Ring tennis or Active Away, both much better."—E.M., Int., January 2012
"I went for the adult week in 2006. Had fun with other participants but in general having been on other tennis holidays I wouldn't recommend this week. The coaches were of mixed standard - some good, some not so good and class sizes were too big to get focussed instruction. The lodging was only ok and definitely not worth the money - similarly the food was suitable for kids more than adults. If I was going again I'd just pay for the coaching and be a non resident. Have had much better lessons and value in Spain on my own organised trips."—A.B., Adv., September 2009
