Here's what others have had to say about Ferris State University Junior Tennis Camps.
"This camp is amazing! The teaching staff really knows how to improve the playing and social skills of the students. Ther hours are great for on court tennis play and the campers have tons of opportunities to enjoy not only extra playing time but also other activities such as bowling and movies. I have been a camper myself and have definitely seen an improvement of my playing skills from the time the camp began to the end of the camp. This camp is a great investment for young tennis players getting to experience life in the college dorms and playing tennis under the head tennis coach, also the professional tennis management students."—J.S., Adv. Int., November 2011
"My 9 year old daughter attended Ferris State Junior camp, from August 8 - 13, 2010. She had a blast!!! I was a bit hesitant about leaving her by herself because of her age and because she has never been so far away from home without her parents. I can honestly say that she was in good hands. She told me that she made lots of friends. She learned a lot about the game of tennis and will apply what she learned every time she steps on the court.
I would recommend Ferris State tennis camp to all who are interested in improving their game. The Coaches were patient and encouraging. Keep up the good work!!!!"—S.B., Int., August 2010
"I had a great time at the Ferris State tennis camp. The coaches were fun, the facilities were great, and I got a lot of practice. I had a great week. Whether we were hanging out at the dorm building, playing tennis, or doing one of the many extra activities, we were having one heck of a time."—A. ., Adv., August 2010
"Our son's interest in tennis had declined over the past several months. Despite this he really enjoyed himself at Ferris State Tennis Camp. He especially enjoyed the food!!!
Ferris State was recommended to us and we will recommend it in the future. Thanks and God Bless!!!!!"—T.L., Adv. Int., August 2010
"I really enjoyed the ferris tennis camp. It was well worth the money because i had so many hour on the tennis courts. The head coach Alex was very nice and helped alot with his lectures. All of the staff was cool and also helped me out. I will definitely be going back next year. It relly helped improve my tennis skills."—B.L., Adv. Int., August 2010
"My daughter had a great experience at Ferris. She felt she was matched well with other players and was challenged every day. She enjoyed staying in the dorm and made friends with everyone. We are signing up for another week long camp in August. Any concerns I had about her eating well were laid to rest when she texted me on the first day raving about the "mongo" We had lunch there when we picked her up and I could not have been more impressed!!"—J.F., Int., July 2010
"I had a tremendous time while I was at Ferris State's Junior Tennis Camp this July. Knowledge of the game of tennis, having fun, socializing, and improving your game are all incorporated excellently throughout the week. I left Ferris State with a better understanding of tennis, but most importantly, I gained even more enthusiasm about the sport I love. This camp is definitely worth the money, and I would recommend it to someone of any age or playing level, whether their goal is just to have fun and make friends or to step up and improve their game."—A.S., Adv. Int., July 2010
"I really enjoyed Ferris State tennis camp. All the coaches were a lot of fun and gave good advice. This week definitely improved my game. Ferris is dope."—M.C., Int., August 2009
"Ferris state was a great tennis camp! The counselors were especially great! I loved how the instructors were fun, they were able to teach tennis positively while also teaching us loads of skills. We drilled in the morning and played matches in the afternoon. I enjoyed how this was split up, it gave us a good mix of the two. We conditioned but no over the top running, which i also enjoyed. At night there were a variety of activities to do. Overall, it just made playing tennis a very fun experience!"—E.W., Int., July 2009
"I had a GREAT time at Ferris State Tennis Camp! From the begining the coaches were out going and friendly. They gave good instruction on the court and I felt they helped me improve my game. The activities were a nice balance during a week of so much on court playing time. The coaches Devin and Kristen were amazing, they were our dorm monitors and could not have done a better job.
These are people I will, and have kept in touch with beyond my weeklong stay at Ferris. I was a returning camper of 4 years, and look forward to making it my 5th next year!!! Thanks so much for an amazing time!"—S.S., Int., July 2009
Since it began in 1982, the Ferris State Tennis Camp has hosted more than 10,000 campers, making it one of the most successful in the Midwest. Campers bed down in modern residence halls and dining on meals planned by registered dieticians in the modern campus dining facilities. The program has access to 23 outdoor courts (2 of them clay) and 4 indoor on campus or nearby. There is also a fitness center. Among those running the program are Ferris State University’s men's and women's head coach Alex Palladino and Professional Tennis Management director Derek Ameel. Together they and their staff devote their efforts to providing personal attention on everything from stroke production to match play and sports science.
