Weeklong junior camps are scheduled for a single week in July at San Diego State University with day camps on other dates at the Peninsula Tennis Club. There also adult/family mini-camps in July and August at San Deigo State University or the University of San Diego. These sessions combine theory with practice and play. The curriculum includes technical training, drills, videotape and written analysis, round-robins, and team tennis. The tennis is supplemented by beach trips, intra-camp softball and soccer, movie nights, BBQs, ice cream socials, and more.
Ed Collins himself runs the camps. He is the former Director of the Rancho Bernardo Tennis College, and for 18 years coached the University of San Diego's nationally-ranked men's tennis team. He is a four-time San Diego USPTA Coach-of-the-Year. His professional staff includes Larry Willens, USPTA and Ed's longtime associate, and PLNU Coach Rich Hills. Camp counselors are intercollegiate players, who provide excellent models as students of the game. With a limited enrollment policy, the student-staff ratio is 4-1.
