Dr. Dave Marshall, who has long been a fixture in Delaware tennis, operates the Dave Marshall Tennis Center at the Plantations, a seven-court club in the gated community of Plantations Resort. The complex has three indoor hard courts and three clay and one hard court outdoors, the last with courtside covered seating, as well as a swimming pool, fitness center, and a Pilates studio. A former college player, with a doctorate in history, Marshall has gone on to multiple state and national championships, both age and NTRP divisions, in singles, doubles, and mixed, and he has lately been traveling with the Bryan Brothers. Since he is not at the club full time, he specializes in putting together custom-designed programs for groups to coincide with the times when he is at home, recruiting former touring pro Ellis Ferreira, who is there nearly full time, to help out. He also offers pickleball on a dozen temporary courts. Although lodging at the Plantations is limited (some is available through selected real estate agents), Marshall and his staff can find a variety of other nearby lodging in the area, including houses, condos, and hotels.
