Founded in 1986 by Luis and Sergi Bruguera, this academy outside Barcelona offers both a full-time program and weeklong camps all under the watchful eye of Spanish Davis Cup captain Luis Bruguera, who is assisted by two-time French Open Champion Sergi Bruguera. The facility consists of 7 red-clay courts, 11 hard courts, a complete fitness center, and a swimming pool as well as housing for up to 60 students, an on-site school, a restaurant, cafeteria, and game room. The curriculum stresses individual needs by keeping student:pro ratios below at 2:1 or 3:1 while covering all the basics, including technique, tactics, physical fitness, and 3-D video analysis. Full-time campers can pursue their academic studies, with lessons taught in Spanish, English, and French. The basic camp, available year-round on a weekly basis, combines three-plus hours of on-court work focused on technique and tactics with nearly three hours of fitness training. At day's end, campers can take Spanish or English lessons and participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities, among them games at the pool and soccer.
