The Hyatt Regency Dorado Beach & Country Club fronts Puerto At 280 rooms the Hyatt Regency Dorado Beach appeals to those looking for peace and tranquility, putting them up in rooms and casitas in low-rise buildings strung along a series of palm-studded beaches protected by man-made rock reefs. It has 5 tennis courts, two swimming pools, 72 holes of Robert Trent Jones golf, biking and jogging paths, numerous restaurants, and a rather subdued casino. Guests can also hop a free trolley to the beach at Cerromar and to the Spa del Sol fitness center, Camp Hyatt for kids, and bicycle-rental outlet there. Tennis FeaturesDorado Pro Shop: 787-796-1234, Ext. 3724 Peter Burwash International directs tennis operations from November through August. At the moment newly minted PBI pro Adam Lane, who played tennis for Belmont Univesity, is in charge, offering private and semi-private lessons, five daily clinics, and the usual pro-shop services. Avid players have, I believe, better choices in the Caribbean, but I'd like to hear your opinions based on your own experiences. Your CallThis is your opportunity to rate and review the resorts and camps you've visited. As material comes in I'll post it here, so you can read what others think.
Other RecreationBeach. The beach at the Dorado is narrow but tends to disperse guests all along its length. Farther along in front of the former Cerromar, the beach becomes broader and more crescent-like. Behind it flows the 1,776-foot River Pool. Golf Courses. There are four 18-hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses. See AlsoThe Dorado is not a place you're likely to spend much more than an hour a day on court. Travel EssentialsSeasons. The hotel is open year-round, though the courts are likely to be busiest from the year-end holidays through April. As in all the Caribbean, the period from June through November is hurricane season (Peter Burwash International has no staff there during September and October), and although the odds are that you'll successfully dodge any hurricanes, you are much more likely to experience periods of rain, especially in the form of morning and afternoon showers. Rates. There are 262 rooms, 1 suite, and 17 casitas on the property. Check the hotel website for rates during the period you want to visit.Reservations:
