Here's what others have had to say about Carefree Resort & Conference Center.
"Had such a great time at the Carefree Resort and the tennis camp was amazing! The instructor was great, and our kids thought he was so nice, be sure to see Glenn the tennis pro. He is great with adults and children. We also enjoyed nice bike rides at the resort but make sure to get up early if you are visiting in the summer, it gets hot really fast!"—K.C., Int., July 2010
"I had an excellent lesson with the Resort's pro, Glenn Gerbino. Glenn was exceedingly helpful and attentive, identifying and helping me with a couple of chronic problems in my game."—I.M., Adv. Int., July 2010
"I came here for a conference. It is located in a beautiful location with excellent facilities and many different recreational activities available."—A.L., Int., June 2010
"Glenn is pleasant, an excellent instructor and a good listener."—B.B., Adv. Int., June 2010
"Glenn, the tennis pro at the resort, was very helpful, available, and even gave us a last-minute lesson (though we hadn't booked in advance). Also, the courts have been BEAUTIFULLY redone and the facility is top-notch. Playing tennis everyday at this facility, and our lesson with Glenn were highlights of our stay here."—M.C., Beg., May 2010
"Great Resort. Enjoyed the accomodations and especially the health club. Glenn, the manager, did an excellent job of setting me up with a bicycle rental and information about the area trails and roads. A definite must return!"—P.R., Int., May 2010
"Carefree Resort & Villas is a terrific getaway with very nice tennis program i.e., pro shop, great staff and nice courts giving you a beautiful view of Black Mountain. Tennis Director, Glenn Gerbino made sure our entire family always had a fun and a court when we needed one. This resort is fantastic for those seeking a casual, elegant getaway without the pretentiousness associated with many 4 star resorts. Big thumbs up!"—M.P., Int., April 2010
Set in the stop-light-free town of Carefree—population 1,800—this resort on 54 desert acres lies just 35 minutes from Phoenix, but at a slightly higher elevation, making it slightly cooler. It started out in the 1960s as the Carefree Inn, its then remote location attracting the attention of such Hollywood celebrities as Dick Van Dyke, Lucille Ball, and Bob Hope. Over the decades, the Phoenix suburbs have filled in the intervening desert and the inn has expanded to encompass some 350 rooms and villas, all with balconies or private patios and views of the Sonoran Desert. Golf privileges can be arranged at a number of courses (the resort has none of its own), and guests can take advantage of two swimming pools, a spa with half a dozen treatment rooms, a fitness center, bike rentals, and five hard tennis courts, the last under the direction of Glenn Gerbino.
